See For Yourself...

Re-Texturing
While Maverick is a wonderful piece of work, getting to know the controls requires the obligatory help file. Now while we could have created a simple readme file, we decided that it would be nicer to have something far more atmospheric. Why just create a list of keys when we could create a whole universe?

Filled with information, background data, ship ID guides, and the history of the entire universe, the help system is actually more than just a series of pages. With it's dynamic news system it generates 'reports' and 'sightings' as it goes. The end result is a far more atmospheric system and you're transported from your desk to a universe far, far away.

And Now The Technical Bit...
Simple HTML forms the basis of this interactive 'computer' and underneath the fancy interface is a standard IE browser - Delphi just makes it look great. Dynamic form sizing caused the usual problems (especially where large fonts came up) but these issues have all been addressed and fixed. So technically it's not a nightmare piece of code but the content took Neil literally weeks to complete but hopefully the end result was worth it.
