journey. Looking around the airport, it was surrounded by mountains but no so many trees. The
cool wind was blowing and the temperature of the chilled air was in between 10C to 15C.
It took about 2 hours by coach from airport to Lahsa,
the capital of Tibet, is called City of Sun. On the way,
we saw the famous river called ' Ya Ru Zhan Bu Zian '
and a sculptural Buddha has always been sitting in the
middle of the river since few hundred years ago,
blessing the passengers. We arrived at Lahsa, 3607m
above sea level. It is a clean, quiet and peaceful city.
We had a chinese lunch at a city restaurant. The taste
of the food was average. Up to now, everyone was fine
except Lim who had cold before coming, and he became

mountain sick after the lunch. According to him, he felt headache, dizziness, and difficulty in
breathing.

After checking in the hotel, we didn’t have any activity. We forced ourselves to sleep because
we had to adjust ourselves and get accustomed to the weather, environment, and high altitude.
During the first day in Tibet, taking bath or shower was not encouraged because our bodies'
temperature had not reached the condition yet. I could only wash my face and went down the
lobby where our group gathered. Lunch and dinner were to be served at the same restaurant. At
that time, one of our members – Chan, felt very uncomfortable and ate very little. On the way
back to the hotel, we went to the front of the hotel to look for some Tibetan souvernirs at stalls,
and I bought some and reserved some gifts from a Tibetan woman for my friends. The night was
windy and cloudy, and the temperature changed from time to time. I was told that Chan was very
seriously sick and went down the lobby to seek help. At that time, some of our members were
still in the lobby, and quickly sent him to the hotel clinic where he received oxygen. It was very
fortunate that he could feel that something was wrong with him and managed to get to the lobby,
otherwise, he would be in danger.

On the third day, Cheeh and I woke up very early.
We walked to the town to snap photos of Tibetan
panoramic morning scene, and captured the
picture of  ' Potala Palace ' from afar. When we
reached the hotel, all our members were in the lobby,
but the tour leader and tour guide still had not turned
up yet, and we waited for them in the bus. We had
our breakfast at the same restaurant which we had
our dinner yesterday. Everyone complained ! On this
day we visited 'Potala Palace'.
The Potala Palace perches on a lofty cliff. It is 13 story high, with 1000 rooms, 10,000 chapels
and tombs of eight Dalai Lamas. It was built by Songsten Gampo, and is the official residence of
Dalai Lama. It is very historical, and some parts are more than 1300 years old. We started our
visit from Red Palace to White Palace, and it took about 3 hours looking around. The religious
