The next day morning, we saw Chan talking
to a soldier-looking Chinese guy at the lobby. We
departed for ' Tuotuo River ' today.
On the way, we passed Mountain ' Tanggula ' which is
5231m above sea level, and few of our
members were still drinking the special medicine to
prevent the mounatain sickness. Before
we reached ' Tanggula ' , we had our lunch at a town
called 'An Tou'. Unfortunately our
bus broke down and needed 4 hours to repair, and during that
time, we went to take pictures around
the town. Cheeh and I saw 2 women and a kid sitting on
the hill which attracted our interest.
Hence, we walked up to chit chat and took photos with them.
Going down from the hill, we saw 3 musulmen
slaughtering the goat in an open air area. Cheeh
got the permission from them to take photos
on the whole process, but I only took two pictures.
We went back to the restaurant for a rest.
Cheeh and I sat at the same table, and put our cameras
on the table. Stanley came over and told
me he could be getting the mountain sickness soon
because he felt very uncomfortable. He
didn't have the medicine then because all our luggage
was in the bus. He asked for the medicine
and I gave him some as I had kept some in my pocket.
We arrived at mountain ' Tanggula ', the
highest
mountain which we had ever reached in the whole journey. We didn't encounter any ' Mountain Sickness ' again because by then we got accustomed to the weather and high altitude. Cheeh came to me and asked me to take the photo for him using my camera. I was so shocked when he told me his camera was lost. It was very strange because all the time he had never left his camera, and how could he lose it without realising until we reached ' Tanggula '? |

Everyone woke up very early on the ninth
day. After
breakfast, we went to see the first bridge of Changjiang. Can you believe that Changjiang river is one of longest rivers in the world, and the water source is just a small stream. The distance from Lhasa to Geermu is about 1155km, and we would reach Geermu, Qinghai province, today. Before reaching Qinghai province, we could still see snowy mountains beside us. However, after we passed over ' Kunlun Mountain ranges ', we would not see them |
