Fanbus for Dummies: Part 1

Before we start:
How many fans do you have in your computer? If you're not normal, then you'll have 4 or more fans. If you're like me, you'll have 8+ fans in your case. All of which
are pushing and pulling air to and from your case causing quite a racket in the process i'll bet...i know. But you know, fact is, up to 85% of the time that your computer is on it doesnt need every single one of those fans on at all.
That's why the fanbus was created to help ease the trouble of disabling and enabling unneeded fans.
Disabling unneeded fans will help minimize excessive noise. You know your computer sounds like a fucking Boeing taking off everytime it powers on...this is help resolve that issue. And plus, after all these years, my right ear is beginnings to show signs of cronice hear loss.
Your computer does not output a lot of heat under "normal" computer use such as work or pr0n surfing. Unless you are doing something that is graphic intense and draining every single drop of juice from your CPU do you more air circulation. When you game for instance, i recommend you power on every single fan you got. This is why you need a fanbus, control...and to prevent hearing loss.
Anyway, enough chit-chat and lets get on with the fun stuff.

  Black plastic hobby box. Size 3x2x1 inches. Spring Clips. Usually used in audio equipment   Heat shrink tubbing. Used to cover up soldered wires for a professional look. Molex connector. Rip this off a fan that you have in your computer. You're going to take it off all your fans to use the fanbus anyway.   Black and red wires. I couldnt get black so i will be using white as an alternative. Soldering iron. If you're going to buy one, get one that is 30 watts or below.  Rosin. Cant solder without it. |
