Naomi's departure from the house was a real wake-up call for the girls, who had been having so much fun enjoying the modelling experience they had forgotten about the actually competition.

But a 6:45am Erika-mail the following day got the girls right back on track as they were given only half an hour to prepare for the days activities. The first stop was the Equestrian Centre where Erika explained that the reason they were horse riding was to help develop their skills- the more diverse their skills, the more bookings they were likely to get as working models.

They each donned their R.M. Williams' boots and jumped on a horse with varying degrees of success. Chlod hung on to her horse for grim death and clearly did not enjoy the experience. Simmone had a ball but was glad there weren't any tree's in the arena and Sam found herself wishing she hadn't boasted of her horse riding ability as she found herself the centre of attention.

The next stop was at a dance studio for a walking lesson with designer Alex Perry and model Mink Sadowsky. The idea was to develop the girl's walks into a relaxed style. Alex and Mink delivered some interesting feedback: they thought Sam's walk was contrived and tacky, Allana has mouth issues, Zoe needed to be more focused with her eyes, Gemma just needed to stand up straight and it was suggested to Atong she should smile every now and then.

Later that afternoon tempers flared during a heated discussion regarding cleanliness and hygiene fuelled by a pair of clean undies left on the bedroom door. The led to a discussion about who did the most cleaning, who didn't do their fair share, and who left dirty tissues, apple cores and empty cans lying around. The confrontation left Nicole in tears in the confession room while the rest of the girls go in some catwalk practice.

Erika-mail led the girls back to the dance studio the following day to participate in an impromptu runway challenge. And it wasn't without disaster- Zoe wore the wrong dress, Atong walked off the runway and Nicole was worried because she didn't have her best undies on! Sam managed to impress the judges with her improvement and Allana struggled and took over the pole dancer title! Gemma won the overall challenge and chose Chloe as her guest to attend a lavish cocktail party for Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins.

The following days lunch of Pluto pups, calamari, chips and burgers was ironically interrupted by nutritionist Gina Byrne, who wanted to discuss diets! Nocole sought advice on eating to put on weight and Gemma was heartbroken when she was told whole chocolate was well and truly off limits. The next morning the girls arrieved at Christina Fitzgerald's Double Say salon for some serious pampering- both manicure and a pedicure. Sam, Allana and Atong unfortunately missed out on a lot of the fun as they all had fake nails and so were sent across the road to have them tended to. Needless to say they were not happy!

Next it was off to eyebrow specialist Sharon lee Hamilton 's salon for an eyebrow makeover. Everyones look was changed dramatically. Nicole's face became more refined and feminine, Simmone and Gemma couldn't believe how different they looked and it was only Shannon who was unhappy with the end result. While Shannon was being tended to, another Erika-mail arrived (via puppy dog) preparing the girls for another early morning photo shoot!

The girls travelled to a rural location and were not surprised to find the photo shoot incorporated horses. Photographed Nick Leary was keen to create a romantic and adventurous shoot, complete with ball gowns and high heels, and all on the back of a horse! Erika explained that the girls would not only be judged on their ability to maintain composure on horseback but also their ability to respect and be sensitive to the nature of the horse and their ability to respect the garment.

Zoe was unusually grumpy and was not happy with being photographed first. She was reprimanded for taking her shoes off and changing the style of the shoot. Chloe managed to pull off her shoot without having to actually get on the horse and Atong found the directions a little hard to work with. Nicole found criticism hard to take and Shannon just wasn't happy with her hair! The next Erika-mail announced that the pending elimination would be the following night; each of the girls had a name in ind of who they hoped would be leaving the house.

Simmone was assessed positively and told it was nice to see some versatility in her photo. Zoe was told her photo was stunning, though she took too long to get that look on the day. Chloe was told she was coming out of her shell and it was amazing to see. The judges told Nicole her walking was a little shaky, but her photo great. Gemma was told she had the best walk and looked free in her image. Allana was told she jiggled too much in her walk, but had impressed the judges with her low key photo. The judges told Atong her personality needed to come across more in the photos, and she really needed to learn how to take direction. Sam's photo blew the judges away and they were impressed that she had toned down the intensity in her walking. The judges were pleased with Shannon 's progress and commented that her walk had improved dramatically and her photo was gorgeous.

The judges deliberated and when the girls walked back in Erika stood before the nine of them with only eight pictures. Erika called out the girls who would still be in the running to become Australia 's next Top Model, first Gemma, Followed by Sam, Shannon, Chloe, Simmone, Atong and Zoe. Then Allana and Nicole were asked to step forward for their assessment. Allana was told the way she dressed would affect the work she would receive as a model. They said she needed a “make-under” as opposed to a “make-over”, however her versatility in photos was impressive. Nicole was told her emotional fragility and lack of ability to take direction were hard to work with, but her catwalk skills had improved and she had come a long way.

Erika then announced Allana was still in the running to be Australia 's next Top Model and asked Nicole to leave the house.
