Shannon confesses that she wasn't ready for Simmone to leave the house. She says because living in the house was so intense, she felt like they had known each other forever. Chloe and Sam both felt Gemma should have been the one to leave, questioning her mental toughness.
An Erika-mail sees the girls head to Zimmerman store in Paddington to meet fashion designing sisters Nicole and Simone. The girls are let loose amongst the designer clothes for 10 minutes to pick an outfit that expresses their personal style. Sam is looking for something colourful, slinky, to show her legs off a bit. Gemma says she is just looking for something she can wear without it making her butt looking big!
The Zimmerman sisters assess the girls choices - Chloe's black dress is a safe option but dosent really take advantage of her best asset – her skin and hair colour; Shannon has too many clothes on and really needs to do something with her hair; Gemma picked up a really sweet yellow dress, which makes her look like a little “Mumsy”; by contrast Sam's shorts and blazer definitely show personal style and she is given the thumbs up.
To help demonstrate their feedback the Zimmerman sisters then selected an outfit for each of the girls that they felt best interprets their personal style.
Chloe is given a bit of colour, something that is more of a fashion statement then a simple black dress. Shannon is given a long turquoise dress which is very flattering and give her a move glamorous look. Sam is given a flowly feminine colourful dress to contrast with her earlier choice and Gemma is not at all happy with being given a pair of pants and lolly pink top.
The next Erika-mail brings yet another challenge. Stylist Michael Azzolini gives each of the girls $200 to spend at Westfield Bondi Junction. They are to buy an outfit appropriate to wear to a casting in one hour. Sam is excited to be shopping, while Shannon and Chloe focus on beating Sam and Gemma.
Sam hates shopping under pressure, so she takes the easy way out and finds a store that suits her personal style. She heads straight to Kookai to see what she can get for her $200. It wakes about 20 minutes to find her dress (spent exactly $200), so she fills in the rest of her time by having a pedicure and a manicure.
Gemma takes a different tactic and spends 40 minutes running through 22 different shops trying to find a pair of pants that she likes (taking the Zimmerman sisters advice). Gemma is looking for something sexy not little girly, and spends too much time trying to work out whether to put a bandeau or a boob tube under her sexy singlet (Spent $170 ish).
Shannon is a little overwhelmed by the size of David Jones and beings to think she has started in the wrong place. She ends up feeling that this day has been the biggest treat ever, as the clothes she bought were the most expensive she has ever owned (spent $199.85).
Chloe fairs a little better and manages to come in well under budget with a great ensemble and still have money for a cheap pair of matching shoes! (spent $170).
The girls then head back to the house to don their outfits for Michael Azzolini who is going to judge them on their personal style. They were given five minutes to get ready. Sam is judged first and she was expected to perform better than she did. Her cute dress would have been great to wear to the races, but Michael feels it is not good enough to go to a casting as it says “I can buy off the rack and that's how I wear it”.
Shannon does pretty well. While Michael doesn't love the skirt he loves her showing off her legs, and thinks that the top and accessories she has chosen are great on her – the colour of both is brilliant on her. Chloe is told that her top is the best top he has seen in a while. Michael also loves the earrings and the fact that she has bought a “nasty” pair of shoes to complete the look.
Gemma is told she had done better than expected. Michael thinks to top hald of her outfit is brilliant but the jeans scare him – he thinks she should have bought the same jeans two sizes smaller, so they would be tight.
Chloe is declared the winner of the challenge and she chooses Shannon to enjoy a massage pampering session with her. Shannon is very excited to be chosen as she has never had a massage before and wants to know what it feels like!
The next mornings Erika-mail announces that a photo shoot is imminent and the girls have no idea what to expect. When they arrive at the studios Erika address them and says that the girls have been very privileged to wear some incredible clothes, but for this shoot they will be wearing something more unique… nothing but some gold leaf paint!
Sam is bemused at the other girls' fears of doing a nude shoot, as she has done one before. Shannon is very modest and really doesn't want to lose her clothes. Gemma takes it all in her stride. Chloe is fine until she and Sam discover an interested gentleman is looking in at the shoot from a neighbouring veranda.
Gemma goes first and impresses the photographer Nick Leary who says; “…she just has the ability to jump in front of the camera with an incredible strength and really take charge and own that picture…”
Shannon finds the whole shoot hard to co-ordinate – She has to drop her shoulder, twist her body, look at the photographer, suck in her belly in and drop her chin. She finds it difficult to relax, but feels really good and proud of herself once it is all done. Nick is impressed that she has managed to “deliver” with all the people and chaos going on around her.
Chloe is halfway through the shoot before she realises she doesn't have a top on. She declares that she isn't going to let a little like a nude shot get in the way of winning the competition. Nick was a little nervous given Chloe's shyness, but he is blown away by her strength.
Sam finds the shoot quite challenging because she has to be aware of every part of her body. Stylist Michael Azulene feels Sam looks a little out of her depth and that she is finding it hard to take direction. He says that while Sam has had the most experience, it wasn't necessarily good modelling experience. Nick felt that while Sam was gorgeous she doesn't have the something special.
The nude shoot behind them, pizza is on their mind as the girls sit down for dinner. Gemma causes another stir with her eating habits when she soaks up the fat on top of her pizza with a serviette. Shannon points out that it is a pretty silly thing to do considering the amount of fat in the pizza. Gemma loses the plot and tells Shannon she is sick of being picked on 24 hours a day – whether they are joking or not, she is still over it. Gemma tells Sam there is a difference between being annoying and being a bitch – she happily admits that she can be annoying herself but tells Sam that she is definitely a bitch.
The next day June Dally-Watkins arrives at the house to invite the girls to an impromptu lunch, with a lesson in table etiquette. Sam switched to “professional” mode and is mortified she is wearing jeans and a singlet top and has her hair tied back. Gemma is dreading the experience, but Shannon is not afraid to just be herself!
Sam turns on the charm and scores points with her knowledge of wines and etiquette but the other girls are furious that Sam is being so fake in order to look good in front of their guest. Not surprisingly June Dally Watkins declares Sam the winner of the etiquette challenge, with Gemma a close second.
As the girls prepare for elimination, Gemma hopes Shannon will be leaving. While Sam, Chloe and Shannon are hoping that Gemma will be the one to go.
At the elimination, guest judge Michael Azzolini asked the girls to do a personal style challenge. They are each given a white tank top, loads of accessories and 30 minutes to create something street couture, including their faces.
Sam's outfit gets mixed reviews, but her make-up doesn't make the grade.
Evaluating her gold paint photo, the judges declare she looks like a lioness on the prowl. They say it is a strong shot although her face looks a little flat and she has one eyes closed.
Shannon 's outfit is a success, but she is told she needed to sell it more and be confident and that her make-up is not street couture. The judges tell Shannon her photo is fabulous and definitely worth the pain.
The judges feel Chloe's outfit is not quite “finishes”, and given that she had finished early she should have spent more time on refining the look or doing something majour with her make-up – but she chose not to. The judges are blown away by her photo, but concerned the image has so much more strength and charisma then she demonstrates in person.
Gemma's outfit is met with mixed reviews … it is a favourite with Michael, but not Ken. Her photo is declared gorgeous – almost as if she was genetically engineered.
The judges deliberated and when the girls walk back in Erika stands before the four of them with only three pictures. The first girl she calls who is still in the running to become Australia 's Next Top Model is Shannon , followed by Gemma. Chloe and Sam are asked to step forward for their assessment. Sam is told her previous modelling experience has killed her spontaneity but her professionalism will always be admired. Chloe is told she has a unique look that would appeal internationally to a broad of clients but she needs to connect with the clients to get the jobs in the first place.
Erika then announces that Chloe is still in the running to be Australia 's Next Top Model and asks Sam to leave the house.
