Shannon is thrilled to be the first girl through the final three on Australia 's Next Top Model. However, her joy quickly turns to disappointment when Gemma joins her, as Shannon really felt Gemma should have been eliminated. Gemma is just glad to have beaten Sam – as she felt that Sam was responsible for the “anti-Gemma” feeling in the house. Chloe is surprised to have made it to the final three.
With the elimination behind them, the final three head off to see Joh Bailey for their final hair makeover. Chloe's locks go fire engine red, Shannon goes much darker and Gemma stays pretty natural. After the makeovers, Gemma declares that with her new hair colour Chloe is definite competition as she now stands out form the crowd with a definite high fashion, editorial look. Shannon considers Gemma as her biggest competitor when it comes to the catwalk while she thinks Chloe is her biggest competitor when it for photo shoots.
Erika makes a surprise visit to the house and announces that the girls have one hour to pack before they are flown to Melbourne for Mercedes Fashion Week. Gemma is so excited that she jump up and hits her head on the top bunk. Shannon and Chloe are looking forward to the change of scenery.
An Erika-mail greets the girls as they check in to their Melbourne hotel. It suggests they get plenty of sleep before their final photo shoot the following day.
The next day they discover that they are doing a beauty shoot for the cover of a high fashion magazine, sot he pressure is on to sell, sell, sell! In hair and make-up the girls leave their fate in the hands of the experts as they try not to think that the results of the phot shoot will determine who will become Australia 's Next Top Model.
Shannon is the first model to be photographed and, as directed by the photographed, is trying to be warm in the face and not too strong. The shoot proved harder than she thought it was going to be as she struggles to get a connection with the photographed and world the lighting to her advantage.
Chloe is next in front and of the camera and is impressed at being able to wear such expensive jewellery. Chloe feels she does well in the beauty shoots because of her confidence in her features.
Gemma has previously felt beauty shoots were her strength, but she is worried going into this one. She worries that the photographer is taking more time to adjust the lighting than taking photos. None of the girl shave any idea what to expect from the finished results.
After the photo shoot Erika tells the girls that they had better find their second wind because Elisabeth Findlay of Zambesi has agreed to meet with them to discuss the possibility of appearing in her show at Mercedes Fashion Week.
They arrive at Zambesi an hour late, hand over their portfolios and walk barefoot for Elisabeth. Wearing an assortment of outfits. Shannon is worried she hasn't made a good impression because of the way she dressed for the casting. Chloe is nervous, and Gemma isn't sure about catwalk modelling without high heels, but she manages to leave a good impression nonetheless.
When the girls arrive back at the hotel another Erika-mail advises them that their day is not yet over! They are to prepare for their first professional job of fashion week and make their way for the Penthouse. The girls arrive to a room full of make-up artists and are told by Napoleon that this is a make-up briefing for Fashion Week. The surprised keep coming when Napoleon introduces an additional model named Simmone, to help with the briefing. In walks Simmone Duckmanton, former ANTM contestant, and Shannon is reduced to tears.
A mysterious Erika mail later that evening asks the girls to meet her in the lobby as 8am the following day and to look professional. It turns out that one of Australia 's most celebrated designers is casting for a show at Mercedes Fashion Week. The name of the designer the girls were meeting remains anonymous, but Erika does say that if they were to ass this designers name to their client light they would be looking pretty good! Erika leaves each of them wish a piece of advice – she tells Shannon to think tall, Chloe to speak up for herself and Gemma to be positive!
When the girls arrive at the casting they are told they will be walking for Nicola Finetti. Gemma is really excited as they have worn Nicola Finette clothes before, Shannon struggles with the high heels and Chloe cant believe that just a couple of weeks earlier she was serving people drinks and now she is walking for Nicola Finetti.
That night the girls get to walk the red carpet at the opening of Fashion Week – Gemma doesn't know how to work the carpet (if she should she stop, walk or smile). The red carpet experience makes Chloe want to win the competition even more and Shannon decides she wouldn't mind being a part of this crowd!
At the end of the evening Erika announced that the girls have some a long way on their journal to become Australia 's Next Top Model and that she is really proud of each of them. That said, there will be an elimination the following day, with only girls getting the opportunity to be involved in the excitement of Mercedes Fashion Week.
Chloe has no idea which one of the girls will be going home because she feels everyone has done really well during the week. Gemma feels Chloe is her biggest competitor given that she now has such a strong look. Shannon says that if is the one to leave she will be really upset to have come so close.
The first elimination
Erika welcomes the girls saying that both Elisabeth Findlay and Nicola Finetti have been very impressed with them at the castings and were keen to have two of them be part of their fashion week shows.
Chloe's photo is declares gorgeous, and definitely cover material, while her walking is a little unsteady. Shannon is disappointed with her photo as the lighting was a little harsh but judges say her walk is mesmerising. The judges feel Gemma's walk has an easy rhythm. Her photo is a little controversial, as she looks younger than her years.
The judges deliberate and when the girls walk back in Erika stands before the three of them with only two pictures.
The first girl she calls who is still in the running to become Australia 's Next Top Model is Chloe. Gemma and Shannon are asked to step forward for their assessment. Shannon is told she has the sort of attitude that wins everybody over to her, and that while today's photo wasn't her best she has delivered some brilliant shots. Gemma is told she has everything physically but the one attitude she presents might not get her re-booked.
Erika then announced that Gemma was still in the running to be Australia 's Next Top Model and asks Shannon to pack her bags. Shannon is devastated, but proud to have made it to the top three in all of Australia . Only two girls remain in the search to find Australia 's Next Top Model.
Chloe is really upset the Shannon has left as she believe she had tried really hard throughout the competition and everything the judges told her to do she had done. Whereas she felt that everything the judges has advised Gemma about controlling her emotions, Gemma hadn't taken on board.
Back in the elimination room, Gemma and Chloe snap back into professional mode when Erika announces that the first of their Mercedes Fashion Week show beings in two minuets. They much turn around and start running!
Backstage at the Nicola Finetti show Chloe is very nervous, but her nerves disappear when she hits the runway and she loses herself in the show. Gemma feels very special wearing Nicolas clothes in front of so many influential people.
After the show, Chloe gets a message to say she has been photographed the runway for Nicola Finetti and it has appeared on a national newspaper website. She is stoked to see her first photo in print!
The following day is the Zambesi show and Chloe see's this as the last test for her and Gemma before the final elimination. She is so glad to be a part of the show as she has heard it is one of the biggest of Fashion Week and so much fun. Gemma feels that doing two shows allows them to show their versatility and she is excited by the challenge.
As they thank Elisabeth Findlay for letting them be a part of the show they are handed their final Erika-mail. It announced the final elimination in search of Australia 's Next Top Model.
The final elimination
As the girls walk into the elimination Erika congratulates them on the great job they have done during the week, commenting that both she and the judges felt like proud parents watching them at the Nicola Pinetti and Zambesi shows.
But that as there can be only one winner; the judges have a bug job ahead of them.
The judges acknowledge Chloe's confidence levels have lifted to amazing heights over the past few weeks and that her new hair colour gives her a competitive advantage. She unquestionably had the edge when it comes to beauty shoots and she had owned the runway at the Nicola Finetti show, and was even better then a lot of the professional models.
The judges liked Gemma's commitment throughout the show and how hard she worked from the word go. They say that in the commercial world she would walk out the door and begin working, and her knowledge of the fashion industry is a big asset. But they theorise that her hyper-sensitivity, admits the stress of the modelling world, could be an issue.
When Chloe and Gemma walk back in to the room Erika addresses each other the girls. Chloe is told she have a very modern look, that she has taken on board all the advice she has been given and that it was obvious from her performance this week that she had found her true calling. Gemma is told she is constantly striving to meet her own high standards and that her photos and runway work are always great so she also seems to have found her calling.
Erika then announces that there can only be one winner and that the image of the girl how has been chosen as Australia 's Next Top Model will appear on the plasma screen… The girls hold their breath until the image appears and Gemma Sanderson of Newcastle, New South Wales, is declared Australia 's Next Top Model.
Gemma's prize is a contract with Chic Model Management, an all expenses paid trip to Milan to meet with Fashion (one of Italy 's top agencies), an eight page editorial in CLEO magazine and she will front a nation campaign for Napoleon cosmetics.__________________________________________________________________
