Being in the bottom two last week sharpened Shannon 's resolve to go on to win the competition. And in saying goodbye to Zoe, Sam was ready to focus on winning the competition and not worry about losing her closest friend in the house.
The week kicked off at Fitness First, where the girls were expecting a day of pampering, but were instead greeted by personal trained Brad Spence. Brad announced he was going to whip them into shape because “beauty is pain and the camera is unforgiving”. Brad well and truly put the girls through their paces!
The workout complete, and Erika-mail saw the girls headed to the Sydney Dance Company where they were met by three tap dancing men including Bed Read, a dance instructor who was also one of the original Tap Dogs.
Erika explained to the girls that a clever model required a vast degree of versatility and to be able to move skilfully and gracefully was very important. Ben then demonstrated a dance routine he had put together for the girls to learn for a challenge the following day. Gemma and Simmone were worried about their co-ordination while Shannon was just worried about being embarrassed.
Later that day, the girls met at Lavender Bay and were taken on a kayaking tour os Sydney Harbour . The girls were paired up and given a quick lesson. Sam thought it was an amazing experience, but then again she was paired with the instructor… poor old Chloe and Simmone really struggled because they couldn't get their timing and co-ordination right and Gemma and Shannon ended up have a water fight when they realised they would also have to row back!
That afternoon the girls had a surprise visit from clairvoyant Marlene Stoten who was happy to answer any questions about their future as she saw it. Simmone was surprised to learn that she was to marry twice while Sam was content to learn that she would marry. Shannon was told she would be famous for acting and Chloe learner that modelling was what she was meant to be doing right now which should give her the strength and independence to follow her dreams. This made her happy as she revealed that really did not want to move back home to Adelaide .
The following day the girls returned to the dance studio. Ben announced the challenge would be one of endurance as well as co-ordination and rhythm and that the girls would be competing in a dance off; each repeating the dance routine he had taught them until he tapped them on the shoulder and asked them to sit down. The last girl standing would be declared the winner of the challenge.
Chloe was the first girl knocked out, but Ben was pleased with her improvement, Gemma was next and promptly burst into tears, as she was convinced she was better than the others. Shannon was next out and although she was disappointed that she didn't beat Sam, she got over it pretty quickly.
An hour-a-a-half after the challenge started Sam pulled out of the competition, saying she was suffering from bad chest pains. As the challenge winner Simmone chose Shannon to share the reward with – a mystery day out in Sydney .
They returned home to an unexpected girl from “Pyjama King” Peter Alexander. Each girl was given a different set of pyjamas and slippers, and while Simmone wasn't sure who Peter Alexander was, they were all very excited. But the surprises didn't stop there. The girls were given a number of pampering presents from Breville including foot spas and massagers… Sam declared that this was what modelling was all about!
As the girls pampered themselves, Brad Spence made an unwelcome arrival at the house to announce there was a limo waiting downstairs for the challenge winners, and the remaining three girls were to put on their Reeboks and go with him for a work out. It was the last thing Gemma, Chloe and Sam wanted to do, and Gemma made sure Brad knew it!
Simmone and Shannon frocked up and were taken by BMW to the summit restaurant. The girls felt very glamorous when the waiters placed serviettes on their laps, famous when they were told they could eat what ever they liked, and were very impressed when their champagne glasses were filled before they were empty. The girls had a great lunch, and did not think about their not so lucky counterparts.
Meanwhile, the other three girls arrived at Mrs Macwuarie's Chair in Sydney 's Royal Botanic Gardens for a kick boxing session. Gemma's attitude was shocking as she challenged Brad's every instruction, ending up in tears again before hyperventilating. Despite not feeling well, Chloe got stuck into the workout and started to feel better. Sam enjoyed the exercise and she and Chloe agreed that Gemma's depression was becoming a card she played when she felt like she was being beaten.
Back at the house Sam filled in Simmone and Shannon on the day's events when they returned from their glamorous lunch. The Erika-mail arrived telling the girls to limbed up for the following morning's photo shoot.
The next morning they returned to Bobbi's Pole Dancing Studio to put in to practice what they had previously learned. Photographer Andrew Gash was after a delicate, elegant and very sexy shoot, with a clear focus on the shoes styled by Sally Sharpe.
Special guest judge, Stephen Lee a model scout for the “Fashion” agency in Milan remained anonymous at the shoot to get a real feel for each of the girls and how they acted on assignment. Chloe was up first and wasn't feeling practically well but still tried hard. Sam moved well and tried to show the judges her versatility. Shannon 's mission was to try to make her legs look longer than they really were and Simmone wasn't happy with her performance, as she felt that she was getting conflicted directions. Gemma knew this phot shoot was do or die for her, to make up for her outbursts during the week.
The Erika-mail later that afternoon announced the follow day's elimination. There were mixed views among the girls regarding who should be leaving. Sam felt Gemma didn't have what it took emotionally and mentally to handle the competition, while Gemma felt Sam didn't have a strong enough “look” to carry the title of Australia 's Next Top Model.
At elimination, the girls were asked to do a dance demonstration, to see what they had learned – Chloe played it safe and stuck to the routine, Shannon hammed it up with some ‘60's funk, Gemma got sultry, Sam got sexy but Simmone was a little reserved.
The judges deliberated and when the girls walked back in Erika stood before the five of them with only four pictures. The first girl she called, who was still in the running to become Australia 's Next Top Model, was Sam, followed by Shannon and Chloe. Gemma and Simmone were asked to step forward for their assessment. Simmone was told she lacked confidence although she had every reason to ooze confidence. Gemma was told her emotional outbursts and her constant need to question authority were cause for concern, but her photographs were very powerful.
Erika then announced that Gemma was still in the running to become Australia 's Next Top Model and asked Simmone to leave the house.
