Nutrition

Train hard as well as train SMART!

Nutrients are broken up into two sections macronutrients which include protein, carbohydrates and fats(or oils) and micronutrients which include vitamins and minerals.

Training simulates muscle growth. But for training to work, your body needs a sufficient amount of energy and enough raw materials to get the full benefit of your training. Providing that energy and those raw materials is the role of nutrition. Nutrition involves learning how to stay lean, mean and muscular. It means knowing what foods to eat for maximum gains. It also means learning the basic nutrients and deciding how much you need. Good nutrition includes protein, complex carbs, vitamin, mineral and other supplements. Good nutrition not only helps you get bigger and stronger, but keeps you healthier and increases your immune system to common problems like colds.

Water

Water is often overlooked as a vital nutrient and is a major component of the human body. Did you know that 40-60% of the human body is made up of water. Water acts as a means for transporting various chemicals in the system. For anyone who is involved in lifting or any other intense excercise you need to drink at least eight 12 ounce glasses per day.
