About Residence Life...

Residence life consists of the RA's (Resident Assistants), OA's (Office Assistants), RHAP's (Residence Hall Auxilliary Patrol), GA's (Graduate Assistants), Area Coordinators, and the Assistant Director.

Residence life programs in universities are designed to facilitate the student experience - we offer advice and help when needed; host programs designed to educate, socialize, or just have fun; and patrol regularly to help keep the community safe and peaceful (for those times when you actually want to study!)

The RA's are our staffmembers which you will see most often. Each building has one, so if you haven't met yours yet, you're sure to meet them soon. If you need your RA for any reason, don't hesitate to call (you'll find a listing of the RA phone numbers in each community's page on our site) or use our feedback form to email them. RA's are on duty in the area offices every afternoon from 5pm to midnight. We conduct patrols from the office, and we are always available to assist if you walk in with a concern!

RHAP's patrol the complex at night, from midnight to 8am. If you need a RHAP in the middle of the night, feel free to call the phase I office, or just come down. These two offices are open 24 hours a day!

Our Graduate Assistants are supervisors, and our Area Coordinators are the managers of the residence life operations in each community. If your RA doesn't know the answer to a question you may have, or feels a situation you need help with is out of their reach, they may refer you to one of us. We'll do anything in our power to help with your concerns. We work during normal business hours, so if you have a question residence life can help you with, you can find at least one of our representatives 24 hours a day!

Every one of our staffmembers is hired on the basis of their outgoing personality, knowledge of campus and community resources, and their willingness to help and to respond in crisis situations. We're looking forward to meeting you, and making your college experience the best it can be!
