Congratulations, we are 1 step closer
to achieving our goal. With a spot in the grand final and a week off to
rest we have the perfect buildup. To reach the final with the best
overall performance of the year so far was very satisfying. We
controlled the game in all areas and our defence was something
incredible. Not only did the back line perform to a high standard but
our on ballers and forwards contested and competed for every possession.
Hamstring injuries to both Sharpy and captain Andy are of concern and
are unfortunate. A low scoring game in very average conditions was more
a result of continuous pressure round the ground. Slippery wet
conditions made it hard for our forward line to gather clean
possessions. But we certainly deserved the win and as said above played
our best complete game this year. Todd was outstanding round the ground
all day, Howie, Froggy, Burls and Stu were rock solid in defence. Maggot
chipped in as an attacking backman providing quality ball into our
forwards. The Grand Final build up has begun. Everybody needs to get to
training and put in 100%. Lets finish the season with a bang and end as
2002 premiers.
