What Would You Say? Prince Charming introduced the girl to The Dave Matthews Band... one of the better things he did. The girl became a fan very quickly, and would have gone to two concerts in 2002 if she'd been able to afford it. For the rest of you fans, the girl suggests visits to the official site and Dancing Nancies, an awesome fan site. For her own reference, the girl is posting the DMB tracklist here. This is a list of the tracks from each album, with indications of what she has or hasn't heard. A degree mark (°) means she has the song, and a dagger (†) means she has the album (which, of course, means she has all the songs on the album, so she won't bother with the song marking). Remember Two Things (9·Nov·1993) Recently (27·Sep·1994) Under The Table And Dreaming † (1995) Crash † (30·Apr·1996) Live At Red Rocks 8-15-95 (28·Oct·1997) Before These Crowded Streets † (28·Apr·1998) Live In Chicago 12/19/98 Live At Luther College (19·Jan·1999) Listener Supported (23·Nov·1999) Everyday † (27·Feb·2001) Busted Stuff † (16·Jul·2002) Some notes... ·::· Busted Stuff was a mildly controversial album. The band recorded some songs and then, for whatever reason, decided to shelve them for a while. Someone at the recording studio leaked these unfinished tracks, and they made it to the internet, known as "the Lillywhite Sessions" (these are the "original versions" mentioned above). The band decided to then go back to the studio and re-record the tracks and officially release them, which is what Busted Stuff is. ·::· Fans of Alanis Morrisette or Bela Fleck may be interested to know that both artists joined DMB for the album Before These Crowded Streets. Carlos Santana plays guitar in Mother Father on the Everyday album. ·::· Lyrics can be found at Dancing Nancies or the official site. DN loads faster, but the official site also has audio and video downloads (partial songs only, from what I've seen). ·::· The girl's favorite songs, for anyone who cares, are: Grace Is Gone (excuse me please, one more drink / could you make it strong 'cause I don't need to think), Crush (I mean to tell you all the things I've been thinking deep inside), Rapunzel (you drive me crazy / crazy is all right), Mother Father (please explain to me / how a man who rocks his child to sleep / pulls the trigger on his brother's heart), and Pay For What You Get (everybody asks me how she's doing / has she really lost her mind / I said, I couldn't tell you / I've lost mine). Then I'll make you drink water from that rusty spoon and you'll gag because drinking water from a rusty spoon is disgusting and you'll get really upset because you should have known better than to steal my friggin material. So, um, don't steal. If you think I'm brilliant enough to quote, tell me and provide a link back here. Thanks muchly. Want another disclaimer? Click here. |
