William Coghill owned Property Moonee Ponds - Freehold Property
William Coghill was one of the first overlanders to reach Port Phillip from New South Wales in 1837. In 1846 he settled on a run at Piangil on the Murray. William Coghill baptised in 1784, died at 'Cumberland Farm', as his probate papers called it, in July 1860 aged 76, leaving his wife Christine Reach (died 1867 aged 76), and their sons David and George to run the farm. Sons George 1814 - 1864 aged 47, John 1818 - 1861 aged 43, William 1821 - 1884 aged 63,
