See Elsey notes, James Elsey my great great grandfather was baptised in Romsey Hampshire England in 1821. He was a painter by trade and left England joined by sister Ann bound for Australia in February 1840 on the ship Andromache under the bounty scheme. James met his wife to be, Ann Bishop a nursemaid from Somersetshire on the journey over. They landed at Port Phillip Victoria in June 1840, got married at St James Church of England in Melbourne in 1840 and settled in the Fitzroy area. James died quite young at only 45 years in 1866 father of 10 children. He and his wife Ann are both buried in the Melbourne Cemetery Carlton Victoria Australia.
