Letter received after I sent a copy of page 594 from 'Historical Records of Victoria, Vol 3', being part of Ch 38, Marriages, Births and Deaths 1836-39.
Thanks, my father has quite a lot on John Thomas Smith, such as original will documents etc. Smith is easier to locate than others since he was Mayor 7 times and clearly a prominent figure in early Melbourne. He has an entry in Wikepedia, we know what happened to some of his children. We are descended from his daughter Fanny, who married G.W Staples. I live in England but have visited Melbourne a few years back. Thanks again for your response.
Regards, Michael
