NEWS March 2005©

It has been a while since the site was last updated and we would like to apologise for this. It is the fate of organisations run by volunteers that it is not always possible to do all we intend or would like. We have been updating the site so that it complies with the latest legislation on accessability.

The last meeting of the Association was on Thursday 24th February in the Lettsom TA Hall, Vestry Road, was an OPEN MEETING. Cllr. Ian Wingfield one of our Ward Councillors, was present as was Jean Uzoma and Chris Ayton, from the Resident Involvement team and PC Paul Back, our Local Beat Officer.

Presentations were given by:

  • Chris Ayton - from the Resident Involvement team of Southwark Council was able to answer questions on the Decent Homes Initiative, currently underway in Wilson Road.
  • Jean Uzoma - from the Resident Involvement team of Southwark Council was able to oversee the approval of our accounts for the financial year 2003/2004, so that we can apply for our funding from Southwark Coouncil.
  • PC Paul Back - our Local Beat Officer, was able to give us the latest news on crime in our area and further afield in Camberwell.
  • Cllr. Ian Wingfield one of our Ward Councillors, updated us about the Wet Centre at St Giles Trust and the proposed provision of heroin at Marina House.

The next committee meeting will be at 7pm on Thursday 7th April 2005 in the Lettsom TA Hall, Vestry Road. Although it is only a committee meeting everyone is very welcome to attend.
