![]() Temple of Time Upon arriving at Hyrule Castle after defeating the third childhood temple and receiving the third spiritual stone, a gray cloud hangs over the beautiful palace grounds. Once you get close enough, the plot unfolds with the Princess and her caretaker, Impa, fleeing the palace for dear life on their white steed. Princess Zelda thinks it a good time to chuck a priceless heirloom at you, however missing and plummeting into Zora's River. After they flee, Ganondorf enters the scene, demanding to know where the Princess and the powerful Sheikah have gone. Link's muteness comes in handy in the plotline, thus making Ganondorf furious and causing him to throw you back with the tremendous force of an electric shock. When Ganondorf leaves, Link contemplates the concurring events, and decides it prudent to follow the wishes of the Princess. Link knows that the Princess trusted him with the Ocarina of Time, so he dives to the bottom of the Lake, retrieving the heirloom. A telepathic event ensues with Zelda teaching him the Song of Time, which will open the Door of Time. That is Link's next task. He must walk a few hundred yards to the Temple of Time. Playing the song before the door removes the spiritual stones from your posession and allowing you to step into the adjoining room. Now, tell me something. If there is a skylight in the room, why didn't Ganondorf just enter the Temple of Time's sacred passageway through the skylight? Video game characters can be so difficult. Anyway, you may now enter the sacred realm by pulling the sword from the stone. Hey, isn't there a fairy tale by that name? When you next see yourself, you have awakened from a comatose state enforced by the great Sage of Light, Rauru. He's made you waste seven years of your life for what? Defeating the evil that might destroy the world...oh...then...maybe it's worthwhile. This monk-looking man may be a Sage, but he plays practically no part in the game, sadly. Despite these things, the world had been opened up to evil and corruption emminating from the evil king himself: Ganondorf. He has ruined the world of Hyrule, even the forest you called home. Your greatest quest has just begun. Head for Kakariko Village to receive the hookshot! Kakariko Village is the only uncorrupted place in Hyrule at the moment. It has actually developed and improved into a bustling town which the Hyrule Market people now call home. The beloved Dampé has died from old age, but his ghost is faster than you! Race his ghost for the hookshot, and, if you complete the course in 1:00 or less, you can receive a heart piece if you do it a second time, or until you can get the two prizes in two different races. Good luck and happy rolling! Also, you may find that Talon has crashed at one of the houses in Kakariko Village. That's because his farm was taken over by the more hard-working, but more ruthless Ingo. If you had learned Epona's song as a child, go the Ranch and learn how to ride! The first time, you can just ride around aimlessly. When the clock starts, call Epona over, and hop on. During a second time riding Epona, talk to Ingo from the horse, and he will challenge you to a race. The first one is relatively easy, but the second one is difficult. After winning the scond race, have Epona jump over a fence and then you may ride her forever. She will come to any place terrainly (not man-made) connected to Hyrule Field. Thus, it is easier to get around as an adult. She will come in use. Trust me. Previous Part of Story Next Part of Story |
