A Will having date the 22d July 1710, made by John Thomas of
Charles Town in the Parish of St. Philips of the Province of South
Carolina whereby amognst the things the said John Thomas did give
and bequeath unto the three daughters of James Dubose viz: Mary
Wragg, Judith Dubose and Anne Dubose after the decease of his wife
Mary, one third parts of all his Real Estate to be equally divided
between them the said Mary Wragg, Judith Dubose and Anne Dubose
and their Heirs forever Which said Real Estate consists of a
Plantation containing 1150 acres.
And
also one other Tract of 200 acres thereunto adjoining all which
Land is situated lying and being on the south side of the western
branch of the T.
of Cooper River and is butting and bounding to the northwd
on the said Branch of the said River, To the eastwd on
the Cedar Swamp of Thos Smith, Esqr and
Mepshew Plantation laid out unto said Peter Colleton, Landgrave
Thomas Colleton and Landgrave John Colleton to the southwd
on Lands heretofore not laid out, but now on a Tract of 660 acres
heretofore belonging to the said John Thomas and to the westward
on the Lands of the said Robt Bradshaw The quit
rents received thereon being one shilling pr 100 acres;
current money of the said Province.
And also one other tract of 660 Acres of Land in Berkley County
adjoining the same, on the south side of the said Tract of 1350
Acres and is butting and bounding to the north on John Ouldfield
Land; to the south on William Normans Land ; and to the east on
Lands of Saml Wragg and Joseph Wragg to the west on
Gideon Lewis now of John Ouldfield, which sd Lands are
now in the pofsefsion of Samuel Wragg and Joseph Wragg and this a
Memorial of the said Will is hereby required to be registered by
me Joseph Wragg, as well on behalf of myself on behalf of Samuel
Wragg of London, Merchant to whom I am agent and attorney pursuant
to an act of afsembly in that case made and provided. |

An Indenture or Deed of ???ment bearing date the 23d
September 1704, made between Robert Bradshaw of Charles Town in
the Province of South Carolina, Merchant of the one part and James
Dubose of Charles Town aforesaid of the Province of South Carolina
Merchant of the other part, Whereby the said Robert Bradshaw did
grant and convey unto the said James Dubose his Heirs and afsigns
forever a Plantation containing 950 acres situate lying and being
on the south side of the T
of Cooper River butting and bounding to the northward on Mulberry
Plantation, laid out unto Sr Peter Colleton,
Baronete to the easdwd on the Land then of John Thomas
and now of Samuel Wragg to the southwd on Lands not
then laid out but now of Samuel and Joseph Wragg quit rents
thereon received being one shilling pr 100 acres,
current money of the said Province. This said Plantation of
950 acres is since descended and come to Mary Dubose, Judith
Dubose and Ann Dubose as Co Heirefses of the said James Dubose,
who died intestate and is now in the pofsefsion of the said James
Wragg and Joseph Wragg, and is hereby required to be registered by
me, Joseph Wragg, as well in behalf of myself as agent and
Attorney to the sd Samuel Wragg, pursuant to an Act of
Afsembly in that case made and provided. |
