Claire Forlani - Mallrats

Mallrats
Director: Kevin Smith
Released: October 20, 1995
Runtime: 97 minutes (1:37)

Plot Summary
In this follow-up to Clerks, T.S. (Jeremy London) goes to the mall with his comic-book-loving friend Brodie (Jason Lee) to grieve over his (T.S.) just-ended relationship with Brandi (Claire Forlani). Brodie has just been dumped by his girlfriend Rene (Shannon Doherty). While in the mall, both guys try to win back their girlfriends, and at the same time they try to ruin the "Love Connection"-type game show that is being put on by Brandi's father.

Claire's Role
The movie starts with Brandi breaking up with T.S. because of a comment T.S. made to another girl who consequently committed suicide by swimming too many laps in a pool. Brandi then makes scattered appearances in the mall until the game show begins. During the gameshow she discovers that two of the contestants are T.S. and Brodie and the conflict resumes (happy ending though).

Director Kevin Smith says of Claire: "When Claire came in and read for the part, and we had auditioned over 600 actresses, I knew she was Brandi. She has the delivery, the mannerisms, the gentility."
