Dear Bunker, |
Dear Bunker, This is regarding my guinea pig, Cuddles. She is one year old and is very shy. How do I help her be more playful? Sincerely Ejaaz |
The number one thing to do for your piggy is to hold her.. Let her know you can be trusted. Then put her with other guinea pigs. She will naturally become more friendly. Then give her more variety. Have "playtime" be creative. I recommend Litle Tykes Waffle Blocks to create a fun atmosphere. Also try giving her different treats every day. You could also try giving her "tubes" and crawl-through toys to make her feel secure. I hope that this helps. |

Dear Bunker, I have three guinea pigs, Me-Me, Figaro, and Cleo. They all live in hutches. I might be getting more soon and am interested in a different kind of cage. I noticed Bunker lives in a glass tank. How big is it? What do you put in it? Sincerely, Jossie |
Bunker's tank is about ten gallons. It is fairly small, but because I have "ground time" everyday, the tank does well for sleeping in. I keep the following in his glass fish tank: Food Dish Water Bottle Plastic Tube Timothy Hay Chewing Block. Check out the picture. |

How do you pronounce "cavy"? |
"Kay-Vee" |
Follow-Up: Yogurt lives in a wire cage. Glass cages are not good for guinea pigs as the area is not well ventilated. I switched to a wire cage to be safe and for Yogurt to have more space. She has a habit of eating too much plastic so she no longer has a tube in there (just food and water). |
