Nail Trimming
It is important to clip your cavy's nail.  They are constantly growing and your poor cavy has no way of stopping it.  If this is your first time trimming a cavy nails, a verterinarian or a pet groomer can show you the proper steps and procautions to take while trimming your cavy's nails.

Here are some pointers:

Get a proper nail clipper from the pet store (Or online) that you avoid splintering the nail.

Inside your cavy's nail are blood vessels and nerve ending, which you must not injure.  Cut your cavy's nail to the point outward from the vessel, and use a slanted cut to match the profile of the nail.

Be on the safe side; don't cut the nails to short! You don't want to harm you little cavy!
