Taxi's Escape This story is about my guinea pig, Taxi, he's only six weeks old when this happened! I have always known my other guinea pig, "Deli" as a pig who always sits on grass and eats, well, thinking of that I put away Deli and took out Taxi. We live in the mountains so if anything runs off, they're gone. Now, back to the story, I set him down and he ran off as fast as he could up the hill, I was sitting so I leaped up to grab him... but it was too late...He was running away!!! Luckily, he ran into a railroad tie that was sitting in the backyard, and I guess it knocked the wind out of him, because he stopped, I grabbed him to put him away, and now I do not bring him out without a leash! Bunker's Bath This is my own "horrifying" story. Bunker is never one to enjoy bath time. On his second bath, he totally freaked out. We cleaned him in the laudry tub. We thought it was high enough where he couldn't jump out and escape. We were wrong! We set in him and he got very scared. He squirmed and sqeaked, making it especially hard to wash him. When we put the shampoo on him, he was terrified! He jumped with all of his might and landed on the top of the laundry tub. I grabbed him quickly and placed him qently back into the tub. He sqirmed more and wiggled out of my hands. He made another break for it. He leaped into the air and clung onto the edge. Luckily, he didn't jump. I picked him up and held him, calming him down. I quickly rinsed the last little bit of shampoo off of Bunker, holdig him extremel tight. After it was all over, I wrapped him in a towel and fed him LOTS of green pepper, his favorite food. We sent Bunker back into his play area and let him run around for a while. We set him in his cage. We now ALWAYS keep the lid on his cage and never leave him in his play area unattended. Beware cavy owners! Cavies can jump extremely high! Jackie and Scared Little Bunker |
Bunker's Name Origin I am frequently asked how Bunker got his name. It is quite simple. When I was little, I used to have a hampster named Spunky. When I went to the pet sotre, I had the intention of getting a hampster. However, the hampsters at the pet store were all ugly and disgusting. I could not even imagine holding. My dad looked around in disgust, he didn't want me to have a pet, and I was starting to agree with him. But I noticed the guinea pigs. They were so cute! But, how could I get one? I had my heart set on a hampster for so long. I wandered back to the guinea pig cages and noticed a brown one with a orange band on his belly and a white mohawk. He was adorable. When the pet store ower took him out to show him to us, he indeed had a "J" on his back, the first letter in my name! I had to get him, he was perfect! Here's where I named him. After I got home, all along thinking I was going to name him Spunky, I realized he was not a hampster and he needed a new fresh name. I wanted to name him something along the lines of Spunky. I remember that my brother's bunk bed fell on me and he moved out of my bedroom not too long ago. "Bunky" sounded like somes weird cleaning product! "Bunker" instantly popped in my head and it just seemed so right. Jackie and Bunker |
Piggie Names Pharoah is a beautiful black Sheltie with a perfect white stripe down his face. When I got him I was going to call him "Flake". At the time, I thought he was a Peruvian so he was dubber "Peruvian Flake" but everytime I'd call him that he'd glare at me. So one day I said, "Okay, what do you want to be called?" as clear as a bell I heard a voice in my head say "Pharoah". So, he became Pharoah. And after living with him for a while, he seems to be a king piggie. he rumble-struts and has a incredible ego. Luigi was originally Butterscotch when I brought him home, and it worked for a few days. But for some reason I kept wanting to call him Luigi, so I did. But people would think I had a pig names Lougi, along with a pig names Butterscotch, so I nicknamed him, "The Pig Formally Known as Butterscotch!" Tammi, Pharoah, and Luigi |
