You know you're an Iowan if...
You've heard of "You Just Might Be a Red Neck if..."  Here's the Iowa version, straight from the Hawkeye State.
1.  You've never met any celebrities.
2.  Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway.
3.  "Vacation" means going to Adventureland.
4.  You've seen all the biggest bands ten years after they were popular.
5.  You measure distance in minutes.
6.  East to you means Illinois.
7.  You know several people who have hit a deer.
8.  Your school classes were canceled because of cold.
9.  Your school classes were canceled because of heat.
10. You've had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
11. You think ethanol makes your truck "run a lot better."
12. You know what's knee high by the fourth of July.
13. Stores don't have bags; they have sacks.
14. You see people wearing bib overalls at funerals.
15. you see a car running in the parking lot at the store with no one in it no matter what time of year.
16. You end sentances with an unnecessary reposition.  Example: "Where's my coat at?" or "If you go to town I wanna go with you."
17. All of the festivals across the state are names after a fruit, a vegetable, grain or animal.
18. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.
19. You thinkof the four food groups as beef, pork, beer, and Jell-O.
20. You carry jumper cables in your car.
21. You know what "cow tipping" and "snipe hunting" is.
22. You only own three spices: salt, pepper and ketchup.
23. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.
24. Driving is better in the winter because all of the potholes are filled with snow.
25. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.
26. You think sexy lingerie is tube socks and a flannel nightie.
27. The local paper covers national and international headlines on one page, but requires six pages for Sports.
28. You think deer season is a national holiday.
29. You know which leaves make good toilet paper.
30. You find -20 degrees F "a little chilly."
31. You know all four seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction.
32. You know if another Iowan is southern, middle or northern Iowa as soon as they open their mouth.
33. There is a Dairy Queen in every town with a population of 1000 or more.
34. Weather is 80% of your conversation.
35. Down south to you means Missouri.
36. Snow tires are standard on your car.
37. You have no consept of public transportation.
38. 75% of your graduation high school class wnet to the U of Iowa.
39. You have no problem spelling "Des Moines"
40. You know the answer to the question "Is thie Heaven?"
41. You know what the numbers I-80, 280 & 380 mean.
42. You know what an "uff-da" means and how to use it properly.
43. You know what "Amish Country" means.
44. You've licked forzen metal.
45. The only reason you go to Missouri is to get fireworks (or football games).
46. You wear shorts when it's 50 degrees F out in March, but bundle up and complain in August when it goes below 60 degrees F.
47. You've gone Trick-or-Treating in two feet of snow.
48. You drink "Pop."
49. You know exactly where "Field of Dreams," "Bridges of Madison County" and "Twister" were filmed.
50. People from other states love to hear you say "Iowa" and other words with O's in them.
51. You know what "Hawks" and "Clones" are.
52. When someone says they are going out for dinner or supper, you know which meal they are talking about.
