Where I'm From: In Iowa, they say you're either a hick or a hick in denial. OK, I admit it: I'm a small town iowa farm hick. I've lived on a farm for 8/9 of my life. It's OK, I guess. The only problem is that I'm not sure which town I'm really from because our address and phone number are part of one town and we go to church in another. But the closest town, is one that everyone would be sure to miss if they blinked while driving through it. I live in the heart of what I like to call the "Carrollton Triangle." And there's never a dull moment here!
What I like to do: In small town Iowa life, the "normal" teenager thinks that there's nothing to do, and that boredom causes the occasional beer party in these parts, but I don't know a whole lot about that. Call me a goody-goody if you want to. I'm proud of it! I've found other things to do (besides cow tippin'). I have a lot of school-related activities. (I'm a 2002 graduate of Carroll High School.) I twirled baton (one, two, flag, fire, the whole works), played french horn and trumpet, participated in Speech and Drama (Large Group and IEs), Mock Trial (I was outstanding witness and went to state last spring), FCCLA secretary, wrote for the school newspaper, and reported for our weekly school newscast, Channel 2 News. Now I'm junior at Central College in Pella, Iowa with a major in Communications. I'm still doing mock trial and music, plus I'm an Ambassador for the college. I also like to write short stories (when I have time to). Oh yeah, I do all the normal teen stuff, too (talk on the phone, hang out with friends, listen to music, you get the idea).
