Notepad

 

To create a notepad:

·         Open Microsoft Publisher 97 (in the start menu)

·         Select the Blank Page folder tab and select Full Page              

·         Change the view to actual size by clicking on the View menu at the top of the page and highlighting Actual Size.

·         Create a text box by clicking on the "A" in the toolbar on the left side of the screen. Start the box 1/4" from both the top and side of the page. Enter your text.

·         Go to the Insert menu and highlight either Clip Art or Picture File

·         Select a picture or graphic

·         Resize the picture by clicking and dragging a corner.  To resize a picture while retaining its scale, hold the Shift key while resizing.

·         Make sure your entire note pad fits between 1/4" and 4" and that you are pleased with the spacing.

·         Highlight the picture and the text by either dragging a box over both or by highlighting one, holding the Shift key, and highlighting the other.

·         Link the object together by clicking on the large box at the bottom right.  This will allow you to move both objects together.

·         Copy and paste the grouped objects.

·         Move the new grouped objects by clicking and dragging it.  The new grouped objects should fit between 4 1/2" and 8 1/4".

·         Again, group the two objects and copy them.  Now, go to the bottom of the page and paste.

·         Rotate the object by going to the Arrange menu and highlighting Rotate/Flip and highlighting Rotate Right.  Rotate the object twice so it is upside down.

·         Save the document as Yourlastname.pad

·         Print one copy and check the alignment by folding it in half in both directions.  All four sections should look the exactly the same.  Print a total of 20 copies.  You will then cut the pages apart and glue on

A

Adapter:  An electronic piece that provides a compatible connection between two units.  For example, the computer’s built in display adapter, VGA adapter, takes information from the computer and translates it into images on the screen.  An adapter can take many forms such as a chip on the motherboard or a PC card.  An adapter can also be called a controller.
