Simba

Sitting on the window sill
Tail curved round
Green eyes dancing
In the light
Wonderful feline
Friend of my life
Purring
At my feet
Kittie kisses
As you pounce
Chasing a string
For hours
Ignoring my calls
Biting my toes
Proud jungle cat
Stalking big game
Chasing a mouse
Then sleeping
In the sun
On my window sill

Sleep Little One

Sleep little one , sleep

Tis time your eyes should close

The day has fled into night

Sleep little one , sleep

Holding you in my arms forever

As dreams we seek

Sleep little one sleep

Soft feathers kisses,

Upon your cheek

Sleep little one sleep.

Looking at you in wonder

Joy in my heart

Sleep little one sleep

Holding your sweet smile forever

Within my mind

Sleep little one sleep

Seeing my life,

there within my arms

sleep little one sleep

softly singing of heaven

Held in my arms

Sleep little one sleep.

Slumber’s Solique

He awakens in the night
Laying a rough palm against a tender cheek
Soft prayers said to mend a broken heart
Sleepy eyes watching the night

A lonely heart calls a name
Making a solemn promise at midnight
Looking for a stolen moment among lost shadows
Touching heartstrings pulled to tight

Tossed on that endless sea of doubt
Whose touch awakened a sleeping soul
Sweet tears shed for a lost love
Chased on toward’s morning

Words of wisdom lost in great joy
Together holding the night
A whispered wish found on the wind
Empty arms seeking the light

Time once found in a lover’s kiss
Now drifting among lost hope
His heart never to be found
As he watches her dream
