Greetings this holiday season!
2006 has been a busy year for me but a blessed one too. My music "plate" was full with my soloist position at Christ Church, being a featured soloist for the Trinity Concert Series (at Trinity United Methodist Church), and performing numerous concerts with a new group called the North Shore Opera Hour of which I'm a founding member. In 2007 I'll be joining the Camerata Singers of Lake Forest. So plenty of performance opportunities to keep me on my toes!
On the family front, Mimi Mi Ling Zimmerman, was adopted this past spring from China by my sister Alisa! I was able to join Alisa on this special trip and what a wonderful experience it was for all of us. Needless to say this was a life changing experience for Mimi and she adjusted to all the changes quite well. Her foster parents did a wonderful job of raising her and preparing her for her new family. In addition to us, my sister Deborah, niece Abigail and brother-in-law Jim were also a part of this important event. We spent a week together at their home in Guangzhou. Jim swore in Mimi (along with 40 other children) as a U.S. citizen at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou where he works. Now that was a special moment!
I'll be visiting my family - Mother, Karen, Hillary, Alisa and Mimi - in Denver for the holidays and I can't wait! I'll get to see Deborah, Jim and Abigail too, during their holiday leave in the States. Here are some family pictures for you to enjoy!
