Pioneer Senate

Situated on the central planet of Pasim, the Pioneer Senate has united thousands of star systems under one far-reaching government.

Founded long ago by Lord Joesph Pioneer, the Senate is an democracy, of free thought. In millennia past, great sections of the Senate fought each other while trying to hold onto threads of unity.

Peace and justice came to prevail under the protection of the wise and powerful Java Knights, who draw n the mystical power know as the Forz. Through the guidance of the Java High Council, civilisation grew and the Senate became robust.

But the price for confidence was weakness.

The foundations of the government decadent and the Java numbers dwindled to a mere 10,000 in the galaxy. Now, the Forz itself is unbalanced and great change seem imminent.

The power of sectorial Senators is immense as they control access to the Senate for hundreds of planets. The temptations that go with such power are equally great.

Corrupt Senators are no longer unusual, even at the highest level. Few citizens expect anything but empty promises and word games from anyone who steps foot in the Senate. In truth many Senators are simply lazy and greedy, but by doing nothing to stop the spread of evil they become some of its greatest supporters.

Many years ago a Pith Lord the enemy of the Java and thought to be extinct, became a powerful Senator. This Senator was known as Senator Sanitarium, or the Java as Darf Anor. He became the powerful leader of the Establishment and under a cloud of darkness had moved himself into a position where he could seized control.

Moving himself to the position of Nabob he then declared martial law as well as making himself Emperor. Using the power of persuasion he was able to removed his biggest competitor Shamrock Sean who ended up flying the Death Cigar that destroyed the planet Pasim and the Senate.

Before the takeover the Senate was based around four major powers that represented the four corners of the galaxy at the highest level. They were the Establishment, who were well known for their military might. The Confederacy, lead by the Senator Princess Lilo, who drew from the Senate days before Sanitarium took control. The Merchant Federation, who were well regarded as the "wheelers and dealers" of the galaxy. And although their power in the Senate had slipped the League Alliance, who were know for tradition to anicent arts and military tactics.
The smaller systems ruled their own politics at home, but relied on the greater powers to make the bigger decisions.

The Alliance and Federation were destroyed in the Pioneer Wars. Leaving the Confederates to battle to restore peace.

After the Establishment is brought down a new Republic is formed, although the Senate is changed and more and more systems are brought together. It was made possblie with the help of Java Knights such as Thomas J. Nightmare, Bruce Skychannel and Ben Karoke who fought for good and restored the Java to the keepers of peace in the galaxy.
