Big Brother: San Francisco Episode
#2 THE BEGINNING: The first eviction was over and the whole house felt bad about the vote. Andy said, "I will miss Frank he was really cool! It was a very hard vote! I am close to Ayane and so I voted with my heart". Frank had been sick and not able to participate as much as the other nominee, Ayane. Ayane had also made a lot of friends in the house. Everyone was a little down when the reality of the situation hit them, all but one of them will be taking the same walk of shame that Frank had taken. The realization had many thinking more about strategies than just getting along with the others. The house was filled with attractive young people and flirting became part of the regular routine. Nick was an equal opprotunity flirter and never passed up a chance to flirt with any of the girls, even though it seemed that some jealousy was appearing because of it. There seemed to be a bond between Cory and Marileigh as well, but everyone saw that as them having more in common because they were the only two houseguests over the age of twenty. The household chores were being divided among the houseguests. Everyone was doing their share and there were no conflicts arising from laziness. Some of the younger people liked to hang out outside by the pool. Often Nick, Ayane, Alex, Andy, Bethany and Angela would stay up later and chat amongst themselves. THE CHALLENGES: It came time for the reward challenge and the whole cast was called to the living room. As they waited in the living room the discussion turned to the lack of food in the Big Brother house. The guests had not heard anything from Big Brother about when their food supplies would be replenished. Just as the discusion was in full swing Josh appeared on the television screen to welcome them to the second reward challenge. He asked Alex to go into the Confessional Room and grab the stack of catalogues from in there. After Alex returned with the large stack he was told to give one catalogue to each of the participating houseguests. Marileigh would have to sit out this one because she had won the previous reward challenge. Each houseguest had a catalogue and was waiting for instructions. Josh continued to explain, "You are each going to be shopping for a food item. Those thick catalogues you are holding actually contains the a lot of ads for the just ONE kind of vegetable. For example, one contains just ads for carrots, one contains just ads for turnips and so on. Your job is to search in those massive catalogs for the ONE lowest price! Big Brother knows what the lowest price is in each catalog. The person who picks the price that is closest to the actual lowest price will get 9 points, the person who picked the price second closest to the actual lowest price will get 8 points and so on down the line. Here is the twist, time also counts for points! The first person to submit their price will get 9 points, the person to submit it second will get 8 points and so on down the line. Here is what you have to decide, do you waste a alot of time looking for the lowest price in the catalogue and risk missing out on time points, or do you quickly chose a price and miss out on "closest price" points? It's totally up to you how you want to work your strategy. Please take your catalog and find a spot in the house. When you want to submit your price go into the Confessional Room, sit down in the chair, state your vegetable and the price you want to buy it for. You will also be required to give the page number of the ad where you found that price. Once everyone has submitted their prices the scores will tallied and we will let you know who won and what they get. Good Luck and GO!" The houseguests found their spots and started going through their massive catalogs. One by one they entered the Confessional Room with their information. Michael and Cory had been the first with their prices and both thought they had a good chance with this challenge. The scores seemed to take forever to come in. Josh appeared on the screen again. He said, "Congratulations Cory! You had the highest score. Please come into the Confessional Room and we will discuss your reward. In the mean time, why don't the rest of you go into the store room for a surprise." The houseguests rushed to the store room and were thrilled to find it had been re-stocked. There was every kind of food imaginable and they quickly started picking out food for that night's dinner. While everyone else was raiding the pantry, Cory entered the Confessional Room. He was told that he had a choice of rewards. He could either take immunity from the next nominations or he could add a third person to the nomination process. After almost no thought, Cory said he would take the immunity. Cory had immunity! That meant that whoever won the Head of Household competition could not nominate him for eviction. After a huge dinner prepared by Ayane and Heidi they were all getting ready to have a peaceful evening when over the loud-speaker came the voice of Big Brother, "Houseguests, the house will be in lock down while we prepare for your next Head of Household competition. Please go to the Girls bedroom until you are told to come out." Everyone scrambled to get into the room. The room was designed to hold the six women, so once the room was filled with all eleven of them the flirting began! The girls went "lap-hopping", trying all the guys out to see who was the most comfortable. After a short wait the houseguests were told to go to the living room. On the table were ten clipboards with covers so they could not see what was in them. They were told to each take a clipboard (except for Heidi, she was ineligible to win because she had won the previous HOH competition) and not to look inside them. Suddenly, the televsion in the corner came on and their host, Josh, appeared to give them their instructions. "The challenge is called "PoP Culture". It's modeled after the show "Family Feud". Inside those clipboards are surveys. For each question you will give the answer you think will be the most common answer given for that question. I'll give you an example: The question is "Who do you think is the prettiest big brother houseguest from the previous series?" and the answers come in like this: 4 said Brittney, 2 said Nicole, 2 said Krista, 1 said Cassandra, 1said Bunky. If you were one of the people who choose Brittney you would get 4 points, but if you were the one (and only) person who chose Bunky you would get just one point. That's why you want to give the answer you think will be chosen by the most people. The good news is that you are guaranteed at least one point per question, for the answer that you yourself submit. Now each of you take your clipboard and find a quiet spot in the house. There will be no talking during this challenge. Once you are finished your survey bring the clipboard into the Confessional Room. When we have all the surveys we will tally the scores and tell you who wins the coveted Head of Household position. Good luck everyone!" The houseguests quickly got to work on their surveys. The questions were not what they expected. They turned out to be questions about the cast in general, such as "who is the best-looking female houseguest?" and "who is the most manipulative in the house?". Marileigh had to be reminded that there was no talking during the competition, but other than that the houseguests flew through the challenge. Cory decided not do this challenge. His immunity reward would be wasted if he actually became the one doing the nominating. All of the other surveys were returned to the Confessional Room and the houseguests gathered in the living room, eager to hear the results. After what seemed like forever to the houseguests, Josh appeared on the television again with the scores. "Here are the results: IN 9TH PLACE... With 25 pts - Ayane IN 8TH PLACE... With 32 pts - Lindsey IN 7TH PLACE... With 36 pts - Bethany IN 6TH PLACE... With 37 points - Angela IN 5TH PLACE... With 40 points - Marileigh" That left just Alex, Andy, Nick and Michael. The four guys looked at each other anxiously. "With 43 points each........we have a FOUR WAY TIE!" Everyone was shocked! They would have to wait a little longer to know who had the power in the house! Josh went on to explain how they would deal with the tie. "To break the tie each of the other seven house guests will go into the Confessional Room one at a time. You will give the names of the TWO people you DO NOT want to see win the HOH. The person with the least number of votes will then win the HOH position" After all the votes had been cast the results were revealed to the houseguests: 4th - ANDY 3rd - NICK 2nd - MIKE 1ST *HOH* - ALEX Alex had won the Second HOH competition and he alone would decide who would be up for eviction! NOMINATIONS/EVICTION: Alex had won the powerful Head of Household position. He needed to pick two of his fellow houseguests to put up for eviction. The only one he could not nominate was Cory because of his reward challenge win. Before he had to make his decision he wanted to get other people's input about the nominations. It came time to take the keys off their hooks and take the Safe Box into the Head of Household room. There didn't seem to be too much hesitation as he quickly put the keys into the slots. He put the two keys he had already put aside into the small velvet bag. Alex took the Safe Box and the bag out to the living room and called to the others to come. Everyone gathered and the ceremony began with a speech from Alex, "As you both should know, there is NOTHING PERSONAL with these nominations. I really now dislike this position I have been placed in, inside BB: SF ...but I guess it's all part of this game. :( Good luck to you both and may the best move on!!" One by one the keys were removed from the box. When all the keys had been removed it was Michael and Marileigh who were nominated. Nominations were over, but Marileigh was still in shock. She felt she had done everything she could to be a friend to everyone. She was afraid it was the age difference that was coming into play. She went to the people was closest too and felt sure that the four people she spoke with would do as they told her and not vote against her. At worst it would be a tie-vote at four votes a piece. She was starting to feel a little better about the vote. It was time to find out who would be the second person evicted from the Big Brother: San Francisco house! The guests were all called to the living room. Marileigh and Michael sat in the arm chairs at the end of the room. Before they began the voting both the nominees got to say a few words. First went Michael, "I have to thank all of you for this amazing experience. You are all amazing people and although it has been a short time, I feel extremely close to all of you. Although I hope to hang around for a lot longer than this, I ask that you follow you're own hearts and vote how you think is best. Mari is an incredible person and it pains me to be fighting against someone that I think the world of already. Whatever happens, I will respect and continue to love all of you, but know that I am in no means ready to leave this game!" It was then Marileigh's turn to speak, "I know this has been extrermely difficult for Alex and I just want you all to know that I am not taking any of this personally. I really think you are a fantastic person and I only wish that we could have gotten a little closer so far in the game. But hopefully, we can remedy that because I want to still remain close to all of you whether I'm evicted tomorrow or next week or at the end of the game. It makes no difference to me where I finish as long as I have made a bunch of fantastic friends, and I have definitely done that. I am in no means giving up, because I am really loving my time in this game and do want to stay, but I will be fine with whatever decision you guys make because I know you will be making this choice with nothing but kindess and good intentions. And Mike, I'm sorry it can't work out for the both of us to stay a little longer, but know that I love you and think the world of you no matter what transpires. This has been an incredible run and I thank all of you for the friendship you have given me and all the fun times I have already had in the game. Here's to many more good times ahead, if not with me than with the rest of you fantastic people!" The voting process began. One at a time all of the houseguests, except for Alex, Marileigh and Michael, went into the Confessional Room and gave the name of the person they were voting to evict and the reason why. Once all the votes were given the houseguests sat patiently waiting for the outcome. Josh appeared on the screen again. "The vote was closer this time. By a vote of 5 to 3, Marileigh you have been evicted from the Big Brother: San Francisco house. Take a few minutes to say your good byes then grab your things and exit the house." Marileigh was caught totally off guard. One of the people who had promised not to vote for her had betrayed her! What could she do with that information? Stay tuned for Episode Three! |
