Big Brother: San Francisco Episode #3

THE BEGINNING:

The eviction of Marileigh was a surprise to her. She had spoken to four people who had promised not to vote for her. The vote was five to three, she knew one of those people had lied. After some deliberation she had figured out who had betrayed her. She thought back to what she had seen in the house. She soon realized that the late night pool chats between Nick, Alex, Andy, Ayane, Angela and Bethany were not just chats but strategy sessions for an alliance. Figuring they were planning on picking off the others systematically she felt she had to do something. She hired a plane to fly over the house. She hoped it would alert the others to the alliance and give them a fighting chance.
The next afternoon all of the houseguests were enjoying the sunshine outside when the small plane passed overhead. They were shocked to see the banner: N,B,A,A,A,A 2gether - Bware.
The houseguests were shocked. The ones not named on the banner were eyeing the others suspiciously and the ones who were named were angry and dismayed. This had certainly been a shake up!
That night was very awkward. Andy and Ayane couldn't take the accusing stares any longer. They broke down and told Michael about the alliance and how they had gotten together and decided as a group that Marileigh and Michael should be nominated and that Marileigh should be the one to go. After that was admitted to the alliance was fully exposed. The six vowed they would no longer be voting as a group. The others were still a little upset about all the wheeling and dealing behind their backs. They began to distrust some of the members of the alliance. They would have to find a way to get the point across that they didn't like what had been happening.

THE CHALLENGE:

All was quiet in the Big Brother house. Once the alliance talk was out of the way everyone was settling in for a nice relaxing day. Their peace was disturbed by the booming voice of Big Brother over the loud speaker ordering them into the living room. They were told that there was no Reward Challenge this episode. The challenge they were about to begin was for the Head of Household postion. This is the challenge everyone had been waiting for. Some wanted to prove there was no longer an alliance and others wanted to show their displeasure for being mislead. This was going to be a fierce competition! Alex would be unable to participate because he was the last HOH winner.
Josh appeared on the TV screen to explain the days challenge:
"Today your minds will be tested. If you can think outside the box you will do very well. Here is how it will work. One at a time you will all be called into the Confessional Room to take the challenge. There is a TV set up in there. On the screen you will be shown a series of word puzzles one at a time. Puzzles like this one *Josh hold up a card with BOPUSSOTS*. The answer to this puzzle is Puss in Boots. You get the idea? When you have your answer to the puzzle just speak it out loud and the next puzzle will be shown to you. The maximum time you have for each puzzle is 20 seconds. After 20 seconds the next puzzle will appear on the screen whether you gave an answer or not. You are also being timed, so in the case of a tie score the person with the shortest time will win. There are 18 puzzles, so the challenge will take no more than 6 minutes for each of you. Once you are finished return to the living room and we will call in the next person. Please do not discuss the challenge until everyone has completed it. Let's begin. Andy, please go to the Confessional Room."
Everyone was anxious to get in there and do the challenge. They knew this HOH was pivotal to the game. Once everyone had finished the challenge they waited for the scores to be tallied. They agreed that some of the puzzles were easier than others. Josh appeared on the screen again with the results:
"First of all, you all did very well with this difficult challenge. The winner with a score of 16 out of 18 is Bethany! Congratulations Bethany, please take your room key from Alex and enjoy your power." Bethany now had to think carefully about how to chose her nominees.

NOMINATIONS/EVICTION:

Bethany had the power, now she had to decide what to do with it. She was one of the people named on the banner as a member of the alliance. She was also one of the people who vowed that it no longer existed. What would she do with nominations? It came time for her to grab everyone's keys off the wall and take the Safe Box to the HOH room. This was going to be difficult. She spent a long time thinking and re-thinking her moves. At last she put two keys into the black velvet bag and brought the Safe Box into the living room. She called everyone to room and began the nomination ceremony.
"Everyone right now, in my eyes, gets along really great. In The house chats, and one on one I think this house is pretty together and well rounded. But also, I think it is obvious that everyone has their one or two favorite people. So no matter who I nominate, some one will be upset and think I made the wrong choice. But Its a game, and this is something I have to do, and I think everyone realizes that! And I hope you all also realize how hard this is! I love u guys!"
The keys were pulled out of the Safe Box until just two people were not holding theirs. It was Nick and Lindsey. They were the two people up for eviction. Bethany had chosen one person for the former alliance and one outside of it.

This was going to be a hard choice for everyone. The two nominees were well liked and active in the game. Everyone thought it was Nick who had orchestrated the alliance so he knew he had a disadvantage going into the vote.
It came time for them gather in the living room. One of the nominees would be banished from the Big Brother House. Nick and Lindsey sat in the arm chairs at the end of the room. The remaining houseguests had to enter the Confessional Room one by one to vote and give their reason. The room was filled with tension. Josh appeared on the screen to announce the results.
"With a vote of 6 to 1, Nick has been evicted from the Big Brother San Francisco house. Nick, please say your good-byes then get your things and exit the house" The Oasis alliance had been effectively squashed. Will others form?
