1973-2007
Theoretical timeline plus two Casca stories,
Soldier of Fortune (1976) and African Mercenary (1977).
Casca's adventures as a mercenary continue past 1973 in two books; in Soldier of Fortune he is based in Singapore and sent on a mission to rescue a Chinese family trapped in Cambodia.  He falls in love with one of the Chinese, Yu Li, and sets up home with her in the Cameron Highlands of Thailand.  Shortly afterwards he is sent to dispose of an African dictator Matthew Dzombe but is betrayed after accomplishing this by some of his allies.  Gus, reunited with him once more, dies on this mission.

In the wake of this Casca goes to Afghanistan to fight the Soviets (1979) and when this war peters out the Croat-Serb conflict of the 1990s is where he is to be found.
