These are biographies of the top officers in the Armed Forces of Austria-Hungary. Note that many are Habsburg Archdukes, relatives of the Kaiser. Many others are from the most distringuished families. Others gained their office through excellent service at the front, and thus called to replace their former superiors with new ideas and fresh hopes for victory.
