The liver has two main lobes, the left and right. It has more than 200 different jobs. The liver recieves nutrients, vitamins and minerals in a blood form which is recieved from the digestive organs. The liver changes nutrients to another form if necessary, then sends them into the blood according to the needs of the body at the time of processing. The liver has many other jobs including: *Storing glycogen, vitamins (A, D and B12) and iron *Producing bile (which is stored in the gall bladder) used to digest fatty acids. |
