So, Yeah, Hi.  It's almost time for Christmas, and it's snowing like crazy outside.  I had tons of fun at the show this week.  I'm looking forward to next week's show also where I play tribute to artists who passed in 2004, and then the early weeks (yes, maybe two weeks) of 2005 will be my best of 2004 review.  There's SO much incredible music this year, I hardly know where to start.  I definitely hope you can tune in and enjoy.

Well, I don't know if you'll know where I'm coming from, but a couple weeks ago I mentioned on the air that I was going to play songs by the first band I ever saw at Speak in Tongues.  I meant to finish the story on air, but got side-tracked (perhaps you've noticed my brain seems to fly out the window as soon as I get on the mic. I am actually slightly intelligent, but I don't think it comes across on air all the time.  :)  But, you'll forgive me, I hope.)  So, yes, I played Melt Banana a couple weeks ago on Your Rx, and that was the first show I ever saw at Speak in Tongues.  I guess I couldn't convince anyone to come with me, so I drove over from B.G. around '96-'97 and into this strange part of town (I had only been to the Euclid Tavern previously, which was strange enough being an outsider, and getting through that University Circle craziness, right?!) and into a space (meaning the club Speak in Tongues) unlike any other, with kitties watching the loudest bands in the world along with the punk rockers and other lovers of the DIY scene.  And that was my first time seeing Melt Banana.  Of course, I was blown away.  I loved every second of it and was glad when Speak in Tongues became a regular part of my life.  Now, however, and very unfortunately, I have to say S.I.T. rest in peace.
Finally, for those celebrating Christmas, or sort of going through the motions because of your upbringing & still sort of enjoying the sentiment of the holiday without the religious aspect (like me), have a very safe & happy holiday!
HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
