COMPUTER TIPS 8 (October 15, 2003)

Or kung meron kayong wheel mouse, do you use it? Here are some tips that would make you love your mouse more... hehehe Ayos!

Mouse Tricks/Tips: Drag and Drop
Marami pong use ang drag and drop and most of them alam na natin like copy and pasting, making shortcuts sa desktop. Another use of drag and drop is for adding Favorites sa IE. Yung katabing-katabi ng http://.... drag the icon papunta sa Favorites menu then drop! Or if you want, sa desktop mo na lang i-drag and drop, or sa Quick Launch... (Hindi mo na kailangan ang CTRL+D for that one...)

Eto pa, baka nakalimutan nyo na... Windows Task bar po ay pwede ring ibahin ang position... pwede sa top, sa left or sa right. So if you're tired na sa baba lang lagi, try dragging it north, east and west. Use that wheel mouse!

When you're browing sa Internet Explorer, minsan di ba merong mga sites na may maliliit na font? Why not change the font size... sa View > Text Size ba babaguhin? Nope... Use you're wheel mouse na lang! Hold CTRL then scroll that wheel (up and down)... You see the effect?

Oh eto pa, sa Internet Explorer ulit. Instead of CTRL, SHIFT naman i-hold then scroll again that wheel! Kita nyo epekto? It's another way of going back to the previous page (when scrolled back), and going forward to the next page (when scrolled forward).

Quick Tip

Arrange Programs in Start Menu
Simple lang po, just right-click to any icon then click Sort by Name.

Bandwidth
Refers to the speed that data can be transferred between computers on a network. The "higher" the bandwidth, the faster the transfer speed. Regular modems would be a low bandwidth device whereas a cable modem would be considered a higher bandwidth device.

COMPUTER TIPS 9 (October 22, 2003)

Muntik na kong makalimot about these computer tips... nawili kasi ako sa paglalaro ng Startcraft... Anyways, I'll just make it short and simple. Going back sa keyboard addiction may nadiscover po akong bago. Bagong style pero ganun din ginagawa pareho ng mouse trick natin last time.

For keyboard addicts! Eto na. Move to internet sites back and forward
Alt + Left cursor key Back
Alt + Right cursor key Forward
Alt + Home Home page

Useful po ito kung sira ang mouse.

Quick Tweak

By-passing the Recycle Bin
How about deleting the file(s) automatically... meaning hindi na sya dadaan sa recycle bin... Pwede? Sabi ko naman sa inyo - pwede!
1. Select the file(s) you want to delete
2. Hold the Shift key, then press Delete

Watch as your computer deletes the file and by-passes the Recycle Bin! Magic? Nope! Try nyo...

Buffer
It is basically an area of memory a hardware device or software program uses when it needs a constant, uninterrupted flow of information. For example, if you ever listened to any kind of streaming audio, the program you use probably "buffers" the signal a little before the music starts to play. Here's how it works. Your audio program "collects" a few seconds of audio then starts playing them. If there is a split second interruption, you don't notice it since the audio you're listing to is already a couple seconds old. Since you're not listing as the audio comes in, it gives the program a few seconds to compensate for any slight interruptions (and there are lots of those). Doesn't always work if the connection isn't good, but it does help.
