SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 5TH , 2004

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH , 2004

Got the results of the 8/26/04 Blood work. Not as good as it was before, but I have to remember that we are cutting back on the meds and that with less and less help fighting the disease, his body is going to have fluctuations in the blood work.

This was the boys ACTUAL 1st day of school, since we were on vacation all last week. Ian seemed pleased when he got home, but this is his 1st time switching classrooms for different subjects and it was a bit confusing.

Dylan doesn’t seem thrilled at all. Said he was “bored” We’ll have to wait and see how it goes.

Here we are the 1st day of school

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH , 2004

Headed to NHIS finally at 0900. we are going to meet a friend of mine enroute, so that we can get our trailers together.

Arrive at the track at 1130 and head into the parking lots. The L lot looks crowded already, we are in the U Lot this time and it turns out to be a GREAT SPOT!! Tho as usual, the parking was a bit of a horror show.

I inform the attendant that these 2 trailers need to park together and that we have 4 paid for spots and we want to make sure that we get them all.

After quite a bit of hemming and hawing, and major pain we get things marked off and drop the trailers and head for home.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH , 2004

HEAD TO NHIS W/BOYS???

Mom ended up working today, grabbed the groceries on the way home, so that we can leave later tonight.

Yep, the kids get home from school and do up their homework and then Mom loads the car and we head out, around 7:20pm.

We arrive around 10:00 after going the long way around(HEAVY traffic in Boston) and a stop for dinner and gas.

The boys and I unload the car and head to bed.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 16TH , 2004

Not a bad view of the track from

the trailer

This is the closest we have even been

We can hear the cars on the track

whenever they

Go out. AWESOME!!!!!

Today was an awesome day, cloudy but not cold, we spent the better part of the morning, setting up the trailer, decorating with flags and getting the grill out etc. etc.  Had the damn parking supervisor quizzing the girl that parked us as to why we had so much room, and where did this (my) car go to. I told him right here as I leaned out the window and then he wanted to know where the truck was that hauled the trailer in here. “at home, coming up tonight, why?” and then he finally went away. Geez you pay for extra space and they treat you like your stealing it. I saw the supervisor talking to an irate couple a few spaces down from us, it seems to ma someone must have complained about the amount of space that they got as opposed to the amount of space they got. Hmmmph!!!

My friend Brent and I got my XM radio hooked up so that I can use it in the trailer, and we also measured up the flagpole so that I can get some extension pieces for it to make it taller.

Keith did not call until 8:30 to say that he was leaving for NH. He and his mom arrived at 11:00. We were waiting around the fire pit that my friend had brought.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 17TH , 2004

1st Practice is at 11:30 which we made, we skipped the truck qualifying in lieu of lunch. We returned to the track at 3:00 for Cup Qualifying, only to have 18 of 50 cars go out and then have the RAINS of IVAN show up and rain out the rest.  Then it rained and rained and rained.

Then somewhere around 10:00 pm we get someone from security asking Keith to move his truck further into our site so that they can move some trucks down and let someone park on the road near their trailer. Gee no one did that for us in July and Keith’s truck was only 1foot onto the road and all the rest of the vehicles were parked IN the road. So he asked why? So you can park someone across my site and block me in, nope ain’t gonna happen. We paid for the 32ft and we are gonna use it all. Let all those other folks park at the overflow lot or buy 2 spots like we did.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH , 2004

It rained and rained and rained……. We the die hard fans that we are, we of course didn’t let this dampen the weekend. We shopped! Only at the flea markets since all the souvenir trailers inside the track were closed.  The truck race actually went off around 4:00pm and I listened to it from the trailer. The kids and Dad and Gramma had gone for a walk.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 19TH , 2004

Race Day!!!! What a difference weather wise. It is clear and sunny with a blustery breeze.

The race was great, even tho Robbie Gordon crashed my guy. Then back to the trailer for supper and hanging out, a good night’s sleep and then head home. Thank goodness we aren’t day parker’s. the traffic was aweful.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH , 2004

HEAD HOME FROM NHIS EARLY AM

Got news today that my web site here has done what I set out for it to do. It has helped a newly diagnosed family get some information in layman’s terms. I received a thank you email from Oregon. Well thank you to you to, I am glad all this has helped someone. (besides keeping me sane J)

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 21ST , 2004

I spent the day reloading the trailer for its next trip out on Monday. Dad and his brother are headed to the race at Talladega, (his graduation gift from his brother and I)  The boys headed back to school to get a pile of make up work.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 22ND , 2004

Mom is sick with a rotten cold, trying to avoid the kids so I don’t give it to them.

Also having my 1st run in with Ian’s new school. It seems that his teachers are less than helpful about getting make up work together, or even getting it ready ahead of time as I requested last week, prior to our leaving on the trip.

Ian has done all the extra work that has been given to him in order to catch up with the class, and even that seems not to be enough. Ian again came home stating that his teacher says he must arrive early or stay late one day in order to complete something that he missed in those 3 days. I have no clue what, or why?? Or even what day does she expect this to be done???

But the early or late entails a lot of finagling on our part since we have Dylan on another schedule completely. And how does she expect him to get there? Or get home since at this grade level there are no late buses. She didn’t even have the courtesy to send home a note stating what this was for. Then it got better, Ian says that his homeroom teacher told them that their midterms are Oct 8th and that he has to have all his make up work done by then, BUT his math teacher has yet to give him ANY of his make up work, she hasn’t had time to get it together for him. How is this possible?? Couldn’t they have gotten it together as they did it last week?? What is so difficult???

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 23RD , 2004

Keith offered to go to Ian’s school to talk to his teacher, but of course she was in class and would not be disturbed. She was left a message to call Keith a.s.a.p.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 28TH , 2004

Dad gets the boys off to school and then heads off to RHODE ISLAND to pick up his brother and then to ALABAMA, and the races.

I have a very busy day planned. I get out of work at 2:00pm and then head straight for school. I have work to do and my homework this term can only be done AT school.

I have called the sitter and told her the plan and @ 2:55 I am on my cell phone calling Ian, yep he and Ashley are in and all set.

It is a rainy yucky day here; OK we get to class and my cell phone rings not once but twice, 1st it is Ian just to tell me that the cats have pulled sown the curtains in my bedroom, ya I say and I need to know this now why????.

Ok I head BACK into my class room and it beeps AGAIN!!  This time it is Keith, he and Lance have arrived at the track, Great thank you but I have to go I am IN class!!! (he is on a different time zone and did not realize) I call him back at my break.

Class is over at 6:10 and I can’t hang around tonight, I fly out of class and head for home, I have told the kids to be ready as soon as I pull in the driveway, because Ian wants to sign up for band and the meeting is at Taunton High at 7:00 and I need to do some low flying. I called them to let them know I was only 10 minutes away and to get ready but of course….

They WEREN’T ready!!! We still made it on time for the meeting and Ian got his flute, however they have the 1st instructional meeting next TUESDAY! I have nothing to do any day of the week BUT Tuesday and when do they have these things hmmmmphhhh TUESDAY. I’ll get it worked out somehow.l

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 29TH , 2004

Well this week I really am a single mom, I get the boys up, and off to school and head to work, I have a shortened schedule while Keith is away so that I will be home when they get home also.

Dylan headed for Colin’s house and Ian and I headed to Target to do the Baby Shower shopping. That took us a while and I broke down and got him Wendi’s for supper.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 30TH , 2004

Got the trash collected and out to the street and then head to the bus stop with Dylan.

Got great news when I got there, Taunton has NO SCHOOL tomorrow, NOW WHAT??? Thankfully the neighbor across the street offers to watch the boys for me. Whewwww that was close.

We are currently very shorthanded at work and I am pushing my luck by getting Saturday off, I know I couldn’t have managed Friday too.

Ian has been slacking off on his reading and is currently buried under quite a bit of catch up work, some of it of his own making. And since Mom can stay up later at night with the amended hours, I am all over him. J

Received no less than 12 calls from Keith today, they are having way too much fun.
