Gul Dukat Cardassian military leader Cardassian Gul Dukat was the former prefict of Deep Space 9 when it was the cardassian-controlled Terok Nor. Dukat was perhaps one of the most hated Cardassians during the Bajoran Occupation. Gul Dukat left the station behind at the end of the occupation, but returned to the station and gave the new Starfleet inhabitants a welcome. Dukat served as both an enemy and an unlikely ally to the DS9 crew. Dukat and Sisko had a mutual respect and dislike for one another, and their constant dueling began on day one all the way to the end of the road. Dukat also had a unique relationship with Kira. Dukat's half-bajoran daugher Tora Ziyal developed a good relationship with Kira. Dukat's quest for power led him to the Pai Wraiths. Dukat was responsible for the deaths of Jadzia Dax, Kai Winn, and many others before succumbing to his eternal imprisonment with the Pai Wraiths in the fire caves.
