Chief Miles O'Brien chief of operations, Deep Space 9 Human Chief O'Brien has served in Starfleet for a number of years. His previous assignments include the USS Rutledge and the USS Enterprise, where he met Strategic Operations Officer Worf. O'Brien served as Enterprise helmsman and Transporter operator before accepting the promotion to DS9. O'Brien also brought along from the Enterprise his wife Keiko and daughter Molly. He was later blessed with a son, Yoshi. O'Brien developed a bond with Dr. Bashir and other members of the crew. He left the station after the Dominion War to teach at Starfleet Academy.
