Jake Sisko civilian, Deep Space 9 Human Jake Sisko is teenage son of Benjamin and Jennifer Sisko. Jake stayed aboard with his parents on board starships and space stations throughout his father's Starfleet career. When he was a child, Jake was aboard the USS Saratoga when it engaged the Borg at Wolf 359. He was knocked out during the attack but his mother was killed. Ben carried him to an escape pod and the two of them survived. Jake also came aboard DS9 when his father took command of the station. Jake was unhappy and bored, and quickly made friends with ferengi youth Nog. Jake spent his adolescent years on the station and with the Bajorans. Jake expressed an interest in writing and pursued his dreams instead of going into Starfleet like his father. When the Dominion War broke out, Jake remained a civilian but worked as a reporter for the war. He even remained on the station when the Dominion seized control for a short time.
