My Guinea Piggy Page!!!

Guinea Pigs are a lot of fun!!! They are good with kids, don’t bite, and are fun to play with and look at. They come in so many variations, long hair, short hair, textile, and also different colors. They are relatively cheap and easy to keep. They don’t fight with each other, except sometimes boys fight. They are awake during the day, unlike most other pets of this type. They are herbivores and you can give them all of your produce leftovers.

The Basics
Guineas live for three to five years. When they are born they are sooo cute. They have all of their fur, teeth, and nails. They are kind of silly and shy the first couple of weeks. After that they are playful and frolic all over the place. They can be away from their mom when they are about a month old. When you have guinea’s you should have more then one. They like to be together. If you don’t want babies then get two girls, they won’t fight. They like to be able to hide, so give them a cardboard box that you have and replace it every couple of weeks. They like to chew on their boxes so they have various “escape routes” They are pretty easy to breed, just make sure that they are mature, so the babies will be healthy. The girls are pregnant for sixty days so you will have to wait awhile. But, it will be well worth it. I start holding the babies when they are about a week old so they can get used to people early. Make sure to wash your hands before touching them.
I will add more to this page in the near future so check back!!
