Sharon Henry, Texarkana, Arkansas Mom to Kimberly age 13...b-day is 3-30-87 Kimberly is around level L2....she has a vp shunt, and has had many revisions....she cath every 3 hours..she hasnt learned to do it on her own but we are trying......she had walking braces but out grows them to fast so she uses a wheelchair full time. Kim is a happy child loves school. She has had a bowel and bladder augmentation done, and 1 tetherd cord. As of right now the only meds. she is on is ditropan. I have a question for other parents of spina bifida kids ...will your child eat veggies or fruites?? Kim will not touch them at all she use to eat a few when she was a baby but not many..i have heard some say there child won't. We go to the Spina bifida clinic at the Arkansas Childrens Hospital in Little Rock AR. And she went to shrinners for awhile. Our goal is for Kim to be independant...so she will be able to handle adult living.... Email
