Andromedia Script Translation

Update!

(February 23, 1999)

Well, I thought by now I would definitely be done with the translation of the Andromedia script, but due to studying, work, and tons of other things, I have been delayed. Yeah, sounds like bad news, right? Well, there is some good news. The good news is, I've decided to release the first beta version of the translated script to everyone. There are, no doubt, errors in translation. This is to be expected because I am not a complete authority in Japanese...just yet. ^_^;;; Also, not every line is accounted for...I've skipped lines that I did not understand and went directly for lines that I could easily translate.

Please note, this script is not to be used for any other purposes other than *PRIVATE* use. Please respect my wishes and do not use it to make a subtitled tape. Also, do not take parts / or the entire script and pass it off as your work. Please read the notes that precede the actual translated script for more information.

Update!

(January 19, 1999)

Well, I've already begun work on translating Andromedia. Yeah, I know I wanted to bring it out before the video came out, but I was busy. I've gotten quite a bit done, but there's a lot left. I'd say I got maybe 10-20% of the actual dialogue done (the script that came with Speed in Andromedia was the complete script which was edited and changed as they filmed the movie so what is written isn't always what they say). Not much of a set back, but it does change my strategy; I can't just translate the script from the photobook because it wouldn't follow the on-screen action correctly.

As I noted in one of my Guestbook entries, Brandon is busy right now, so only I am translating at the moment. I'm not sure when Brandon will get in on the action, but I'll keep you folks up to date!

One final note, I may or may not release incomplete versions of the script. For the most part, it's just to let everyone know that I am not copying the script from any other source (I only know of one other group doing a translation of the script; it's a fansub group called Dragoon Production or something similar. Last I heard, the fansub was going to come out sometime around April so I want to get at least a partial script out before then).

Andromedia Script Translation

Well, the movie didn't come out yet, but that doesn't mean you can't translate the script. ^_^ A speed fan and I have decided to work on the script and try to translate it. It'll take a while, but we hope to get it done.

This is a major project and any help is appreciated! If you would like to join the team, please feel free to contact me: sashimix@juno.com

Well, to start things off, a partial translation of one scene from Andromedia is available below. It's not completely correct nor the final say, so if you have any comments, suggestions, or comments e-mail me.

Please note, that this document was created using the NJStar Japanese Word Processor. I'm not sure if it'll work in other Japanese word processors.

Note: You need to rename the file from data1.txt to data1.njx; I had to change the filename because Geocities told me it was an invalid / unsupported file type.
