Captain Jonathan Archer commanding officer, starship Enterprise Human Jonathan is the son of Henry Archer, the man who worked side-by-side with Dr. Zefram Cochrane on the warp 5 engine, a dream that Henry or Cochrane would never live to see come true. Under strict supervision from the Vulcans, Starfleet allowed Jonathan Archer to continue to work on the project which ended in the construction of the Enterprise NX-01. It was Archer who pushed to launch Enterprise to return a klingon to his homeworld, an idea the Vulcans hated but had to live with. Archer was pivotal in human first contact with the Klingons, and also was the first to see a Suliban. Since taking command of the Enterprise, Archer has made first contact with several species. He has come in the middle of the Vulcan-Andorian relationship and has encountered other humanoid and truly alien species. He also has become a major player in the Temporal Cold War along with nemesis Silik and Daniels.
