Ensign Hoshi Sato communications officer, starship Enterprise Human One of the world's best in linguistics, Hoshi Sato was assigned to the Enterprise as the communications officer. Hoshi took leave from Starfleet while Enterprise was still under construction, and went to Brazi to each students. After Captain Archer was allowed to take the Enterprise to return a Klingon to Q'uonos, Archer was able to lure Hoshi away from Brazil and onto the bridge of his ship. Hoshi was the first human to study the Klingon language and communicate with a member of the species. She is not fond of space travel and is uncomfortable with space turbulance, standing too close to the warp core, and other things she fears will be hazardous.
