It's basketball times boys and girls!

The Kings are going to be pretty bad this year. I predict 33 wins. Kevin Martin is a star. Francisco Garcia is getting better. Bibby is falling apart. Artest is still damn good, but he's got to be less controversial.

nba.com is now showing Inside the NBA on their website. Charles Barkley is still the most compelling basketball analyst on the planet.

I'm not playing fantasy basketball this year. I haven't played in a while. It's not as fun anymore.

I am playing poker though. World Championship Poker 2. What a wacky game. I play aggressive because I get bored. I don't have the patience to play poker in real life.

I am also playing a lot more guitar hero 2 at work. I can do pretty well at medium, but hard mode kills me.

Rock Band vs Guitar Hero 3 is a nice example of the paradox of choice. I want both. But I want neither. I don't want to buy one and realize I should've gotten the other. Guitar Hero 3 is cheaper and has more songs and is a guitar game. Rock Band is more expensive, has less songs, is a party game, seems cooler, but apparently has a crappy single player experience. Rock Band seems like the game to get, but I imagine I'm going to be doing a lot of playing by myself, which might make the game actually suck. Now, if there was only 1 good game, then I would get that, end of story. But there are 2, and I am conflicted. Sad Puppy.

I don't think the Paradox of Choice should apply here. I believe the paradox of choice is meant to apply to cases where there are tons of choices, not 2. But I am a fool, and fools act foolishly.

This is boredom typing. I think I will go play more poker. Trip Snowmen!

    damnit ow.

I usually keep my toenails and fingernails extremely well cropped. I don't regularly have long fingernails or toenails. But I did have a pair of long toenails on my big toes until about 20 minutes ago. But now I only have one.

TMI: I tripped while I was coming up the stairs to my apartment in a pair of open-toe sandals. And it now appears that about 1/4th of an inch of my toenail has separated from the toe. Yes it is bleeding still. Under the toenail, there is blood. My toe hurts slightly. I taste blood in my mouth. I can't explain that last one.

I guess I just let it heal? I don't really want to cut more of the toenail off just let. It's hard to tell what part is separated and what part isn't. I'll let it die, then remove the dead part. This sucks.

Lesson: Keep your toenails trimmed. Dumb ass.

Note : despite the lesson, I still have an extra long toenail on my left big toe. I am a dumb ass awaiting my next toe injury.

    Laters.

I went to see Jimmy Eat World a week ago com mis amigos and it was a really awesome concert. A nice mix of slow and fast songs. Their album is good too. At first I was concerned that it sounded too poppy, but that was immediately dropped after a few listens. Now I've got it on repeat and can't stop listening to it. My faves :: Always Be [Always be a little far for me to reach], Carry You [I can never be the one that you want, don't ask], Firefight [For you and me, there's nowhere left to hide, except you and me there's no one else alive], Dizzy [On a pay phone, remember those, from another life] And a honorable mention goes to Feeling Lucky which magically uses the works "suck" and "luck" but never rhymes them with "fuck." It must not be easy to avoid writing the obvious rhyme in to a song.

Is black on white easier to read? better font? Better spacing? Whatevers. Looks cool to me.

    How awful!

Somebody is practicing their guitar in my apartment complex. Dude. Stop please.

I had some champagne today. Why am I such an idiot.

    Yeah, life, yeah.

I went to a concert last week. Arcade Fire was the headliner, LCD Soundsystem was opening. I don't really know Arcade Fire, even though every publication on earth recommends them. I don't think LCD Soundsystem is made for live shows. Whatevers.

Kanye West - Graduation - A :: Kanye doesn't miss a step here. This album is pretty damn good start to finish. It feels short, but only because the songs flow so well. My fave is Flashing Lights.

Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace :: I haven't listened to it enough times yet, but it's good so far.

I think I'll sleep once this bastard stops playing his damn guitar. Man, dude, you suck!

    later!

I've been hitting the gym lately. I'm only going once a week, so the idea of me getting incredibly big is something you don't have to worry/think about. But it's definitely a change of pace. I'm still doing my regular sets of push ups everyday (which I've unbelievably been doing pretty consistently for over a year now). So this new stuff comes in addition to my already olympic level training

I'm trying to run enough to hit a marathon level. I'm about 5% of my way there. A little over a mile and my legs start to turn to jello. My weight lifting isn't anything serious. Just bicep curls for now. Maybe someday I'll actually get a trainer, but for now, these weekly sessions are fun.

I've been marking my calendar for the last year with the # of exercises (majority have been push ups) I've done per day. It's pretty awesome to see the progress. From maxing out at 25, to now being able to do 200+. If only I had more weight to push up. haha

Speaking of progress, I've also been driving regularly for nearly a year. I still suck. I wonder if this is just a natural talent that I can't learn? I've gotten slightly better, but I still regularly screw up. I'm still not a great parker, not a great lane changer, and I sure as hell can't parallel park. I wonder what it's going to take?

I'm drinking a protein smoothie right now. This actually doesn't have a bad taste. But it leaves a rough texture in your mouth after each chug. I take a hit of that, followed by a drink of water to actually wash the leftovers down.

Oh, and I haven't gotten a hair cut in months. Hippie power.

Out for september! A new age is upon us.

    FURIOUS FRUSTRATION. out!
    Friday August 24th, 2007
Wednesday night was fun. I forgot I even posted that last post, but I did do better than my normal self.

We had a team get together last night. After a few people left, and the night was coming to a close, my boss said something to me that sort of threw me off. I had a feeling people could tell, but I guess it just took a little alcohol for anybody to mention it. It's all good though. It was just an observation about me and somebody else. It caught me off guard, but my boss does that. Hope for the best.

But god damnit. I think there's more to it that just that. It feels like there's more that I don't know or don't want to know. Or maybe I do know. I hate the extra people potentially involved in this. I hate this feeling, but I love this feeling.

    I'm sick too. damnit

Laters all. Here's to a great end of the month

Settle down. We can't get caught up in this. If we get caught up in this, everything is lost again.
Happiness and sadness. pain and pleasure. I am scared of sadness and pain. I think I'm also scared of happiness and pleasure.

    More risk, more reward.

Sadness and pain or happiness and pleasure. Take both.

I guess today we'll see if I can make it all happen.

    Today was a little crazy.

Did a little too much scab attacking today. I've got a few days to wait for it to cool down.

Then later I got to talk to somebody that I really respect. I'm afraid that he knows too much about my concerns, and is now going to guilt trip himself to help us out. Ugh. Damnit.

New episodes of Trapped in the Closet. Twan plays a big role in it so far. And apparently that bullet wound is now fully healed. haha.

I've got to get better at life.

Laters. Until we meet again comrades.

    The return

I'm currently sitting in my new apartment. Smaller than the last one. More expensive than the last one. But still pretty cool.

I just set up my windows box. I haven't used windows since probably the day of my last post. Do I miss it? Only slightly. I think I've truly become so OS-agnostic, that it only matters that I have internet access. Firefox is all I need in this world.

So what OS is the best? Mac OSX is definitely pretty. But I really feel it's not as great as WinXP.

    - Nix and Windows both have the standard ctrl+c,ctrl+v, but apple decides that the Apple button is the victor. This is only a problem because the apple button is where the alt button is. When I'm switching from my work linux box to the mac, it bites me. This is also a problem in firefox where some shortcuts have moved from ctrl+___ to apple+___. poop.

    - 2 mouse buttons. Hurry up already. I don't want to use 2 finger clicks and ctrl clicks.

    - it crashes on me. seriously.

    - the dock sucks. window management is a pain. give me my taskbar.

    - I like having a start menu. Or the ubuntu menu. I've got a lot of secondary apps that I run, but not enough to want to drop them on my dock.

It is really really easy to use though. I can't stress that enough. Internet, wireless, camera hookup were all true plug and play. Even though I've had the same experience in windows, I can't say the same about other people.

MacOSX is a solid OS. But it's not right for me.

    -------
I've got dual monitor action going on at home now. it's sweet. But I'm pretty sure I'm just burning electricity at this point.

I've got my xbox 360 again. Haven't really played it. I went looking for a rca -> 3.5mm cable, but frys didn't have it. Frys also didn't have guitar hero 2 or Ninja Gaiden Black. what?

My commute is about 12 minutes now. I still don't know how to park

I've got a seriously awesome job. It's scary how great it is.

    Later. Good day.

    Sunday July 15th, 2007
    Last post from this apartment.

    First post from Macbook.

I'm going to be windows free for a few weeks. Let's see what happens

    Later all!
    Thursday July 5th, 2007
yep. switched jobs. again. July 2nd marked the day. Except... I'm still working with the exact same people. Just in a new location. Hmmmm. Something is fishy.

Interpol Aol Sessions. Check out how creepy carlos is with his dog. Carlos, what happened man?

    Mac Talk ::
    - if I select a folder in finder with the keyboard, and then push my enter key, it acts like I want to rename the folder. Why? Why would I push enter to rename? Apparently I need to push Apple + O?

    I'm screwed. apartment hunting sucks.

See ya soon. I need rest! peace

    Sunday July 1st, 2007
    Welcome to July!

It's a wicked game indeed. I imagine the whole thing is intentional. I don't know why I let myself fall in to these traps. But this is July. Another reboot is upon us. Let us enjoy this changing of the guards!

ozma - ups and downs - I'll devise a plot, To Break your heart, think up a plan that I'll never carry out.

About Spencer Hawes, 2007 Kings draft pick
Spencer Hawes is a hardcore conservative from, of all places, the liberal stronghold of Seattle. He was drafted into a city (Sacramento) where one of the country's most recognizable Republican governors (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is in office.

...Hawes said, "It's one big lie. I talked about that in my opening speech -- it's the media's liberal overexaggeration of just about everything."

Hawes, also an avid listener of The Rush Limbaugh Show,...
    haha!

ok, July, I need you to be awesome. For the sake of all of us, your awesomeness is required. If you are not awesome, I will be forced to hate you.

07 is half over! Peace Out. Out Like Grout.
    Saturday June 30h, 2007
And a new chapter in my life begins.

The Milwaukee Bucks drafted Yi Jianlian with the 6th pick in the NBA Draft. Apparently he was a no show in Milwaukee on Friday. hahah. Those silly chinese people, always causing trouble!

So the next couple weeks are going to be crazy. Insanely crazy.

And then the weeks after that? Still crazy.

I haven't posted here in a while because.. um. I don't know. I've been writing and receiving way too much email lately. I think that's to blame. At work and at home.

The Kings drafted Spencer Hawes. A 7 foot dude who didn't really rebound well in college. I hope he turns out good, but he's definitely one of those guys that you don't look at and think he's going to be awesome immediately.

Trashed almost all of my scraps of paper at work. I'm pushing the reset button.

I think I asked for this to happen. I think I got what I asked for. I don't know if that sucks or what.

    Leaving you. Time to go.
    Thursday June 21st, 2007
Today was that dentist thing. No pain. Except I can feel it all the time. There's a foreign object in my mouth. I must eat with it. I must talk with it. It's weird.

    I hate you!

    No I don't

The Kings have hired Reggie Theus as the head coach of the Kings. Interesting? A couple draft boards also have Yi Jianlian falling to #10 for the Kings. Interesting?

I think Theus will be an alright coach. I don't think we'll make the playoffs this year. The West is too strong, and the Kings don't have it right now.

Yi Jianlian has been my favorite for a while. I have no idea if he'll be any good, but he appears like he has some skill. I think he'll go for 5ppg/4rpg season 1 and get labeled a bust. By Year 3 He'll be 13ppg/6rpg and still be labeled a bust. But he'll have one season after that where he'll pull 18/10 and score a huge contract.

    Speculation!

I've listened to White Stripes - Icky Thump and Bishop Allen - Bishop Allen & the Broken String. Icky Thump is wacky and different. Bishop Allen is sweet and melodic. But I really want new Interpol!

I also got wacky news today at work. wacky. bad news I guess. hmmm

    Later. Out for today.
