Letters to the Editor
Issue 0000001
Letters Policy:
Basically the only thing we have
to officially say is this, "Your letter may be directed
to another member of the staff, rather than I, the Editor in
Chief, answering it. This is done to insure that you get the
most highly qualified answer that we can possibly give.
Also, sometimes I am on vacation
every week or so.
And I, the Editor in Chief, reserve
the right to edit all letters posted. Sometimes the "colorful"
language has to be omitted because it it causes nice elderly
church ladies thump their Bibles too hard. And with their fragile
and delicate fingers, this causes considerable pain. And since
we love and respect them dearly, we choose to save them from
such pain so that they can continue to bake us cookies."
Your's truly,
The Editor in Chief.
Letter 1:
Hey! What's up with your logo?!?
Are you guys fundies, atheists, or agnostics?!? Are you calling
us atheists "FOOLS"!?! What's up with that?!?
I bet you don't answer this,
Frank F.
Dear Frank,
First, we have not yet decided
if we are agnostics or not. We are still weighing all the evidence.
Second, our logo reflects what
we are traditionally called by atheists (blind fools, blind sheep,
takin' blind leaps, blind as bats, blind folded, blind-sided,
blind spot, blind dates, etc.).
We are going with the flow, showing
a sense of humor and laughing at ourselves.
And we hope you will too :-)
Third, we are NOT calling atheists
fools! In fact, Jesus prohibited us from doing so:
Matt. 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry
with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who
says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin.
But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire
of hell.
Hope this helps,
Editor in Chief
Letter 2:
(Re: Letter 1)
Hey! But didn't Jesus call
people fools in Matt 23:17?!? Doesn't this make Jesus a hypocrite?!?
I really bet you don't answer
this one!
Frank F.
Dear Frank,
In Matt 5:22, if we take it all
in "context", Jesus is referring to people who are
"angry" at someone else and making snide remarks to
others about their "intelligence". In fact, the term,
'Raca,' may be related to the Aramaic word for "empty"
and mean "Empty-head!"
Now, in Matt 23:17, Jesus is
referring to the teachers of God's law. They were the greatest
of hypocrites and misrepresenting God's Law for their own selfish
purposes.
And if Jesus is God, He has the
"authority" to judge them and call them fools.
Hope this helps,
Editor in Chief
Letter 3:
(Re: Letter 2)
But Jesus is not God because
there is no God!
Frank F.
Dear Frank,
That is why you are an atheist.
Editor in Chief
P.S. - Don't you have an article to write for our first issue?
You need to get hopping because the deadline is fast approaching.
Letter 4:
(Re: Letter 3)
Okay boss, I'm on it.
Frank
