Pele's League Week 3 Reviews - September 18th Week 3 of action on Pele's League left only two undefeated teams in the league, as the red hot PIMP C's REAL G's suffered their first loss of the season. Let's check out the results Randolph Blue Devils 49 vs. 68 Ithaca Isolators (NFL Bye teams for Week 3: Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, Tennessee)
Randolph Blue Devils 49 vs. 68 Ithaca Isolators The Ithaca Isolators had a very good game against the Randolph
Blue Devils, as their attack continue to impress. Led by RB Napoleon Kaufman and
the Raiders Denfense, the Isolators (2-1) didn't have much trouble defeating the still
winningless Blue Devils (0-3), who're still struggling. They suffered most by a sub-par
performance by RB Emmitt Smith, WR Vincent Brisby and TE Ernie Conwell. The Isolators have
won two in a row. Cortland, NY Gradams Greats 34 vs. 81 Sao Paulo Hard Plays The second best attack in the league showed some power this weekend, as the Sao
Paulo Hard Plays destroyed the Cortland, NY Gradams Greats,
81-34. The Hard Plays (3-0) are one of the two undefeated teams in the league right now.
They played very well, with strong performances in almost every single position, including
14 points by QB Brad Johnson, 13 each by RB Curtis Martin and TE Wesley Walls, and 15
points by the Panthers Defense. They're only struggle came at the WR postion (2 points
each), but even without their help they scored an impressive 81 points. The Gradams Greats
(1-2), on the other hand, got very little help from his starters this week, as Kent
Graham, Irving Spikes and Fred Barnett went scoreless. They're olny bright spot appears to
be in the kicking game, as rookie Olindo Mare is getting plenty of opportunity to kick
some field goals. Oporto Eagles 47 vs. 43 PIMP C's REAL G's In the closest game of the week, the apparently unbeatable PIMP C's REAL G's
got surprised by the Oporto Eagles when they played at Portugal. The REAL G's (2-1) had
some problems with their offense and their defense, as their WR's and TE played very
poorly (total of only 3 points among them) and the Vikings Defense could only score a
single point. Their defensive player, Bruce Smith, who was last year's Defensive Player of
the Year, struggled and couldn't get a single sack. So, in a close match, the Eagles (2-1)
came up with good performanced by QB Vinny Testaverde and K John Kasay, with 14 points
each, en route to a very close, 4-point victory. Sao Paulo Golpes Baixos 27 vs. 41 Sao Paulo CCM In the battle of two Sao Paulo teams, the Sao Paulo CCM defeated the Sao Paulo Golpes Baixos in a low scoring match. The Golpes Baixos (0-3) couldn't score this week, so the CCM (1-2) took their chances and led by a great John Elway performance, they got themselves their first win of the season. San Juan Coquis 36 vs. 50 Sao Paulo 55ers The other undefeated team also comes from Sao Paulo, as the 55ers (3-0) defeated the San Juan Coquis (1-2), 50-36. The 55ers were led by QB Elvis Grbac, WR Antonio Freeman and especially a very good effort by the Denver Broncos defense, with 15 points. For the Coquis, they struggled with their running attack (1 point total), as they've now lost two in a row and will have to try to rebound next week. The 55ers are tied with the Hard Plays for first place, but their attack is only the fourth in the league, while the Hard Plays are the second best (only 2.5 behind the Isolators best attack).
