MATTHIAS SCHOLEFIELD 1756-1829
AND HIS DESCENDANTS

Matthias was born to Thomas and Susanna and he was baptised in Mirfield on the 16th August, 1756.
He married Elizabeth Ellis at Mirfield on the 24th March, 1788.

Matthias and Elizabeth were first cousins, Matthias' mother, Susanna Durans, was the older sister of Elizabeth's mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Durans.


They had nine children:

George baptised 26 December 1788 at Mirfield.
In 1841 George was living at New Gate, Mirfield with his mother Elizabeth. It is not known if George married.

Thomas baptised 29 October 1794 at Mirfield.
In 1841 Thomas was married to Elizabeth and living at "Boat House", Mirfield. He was an agricultural labourer.

In 1841 they were living at Bracken Hill, Mirfield.
