Margaret Davison was born on the 21st
February, 1914 at Back Percy Street, Mossley.

Margaret Davison
She attended Milton School in Mossley, she
always spoke of her school days as being very happy times. In her youth,
Margaret joined the Girl Guides and she also appeared in pantomimes at Abney
Church. She enjoyed playing cricket and
when she started work at Tanner
Brothers in Diggle, she joined the ladies cricket team.
Margaret worked in the mills all her working
life, when she was at Tanner's she cycled there and back each day.
In WW2 she worked on the famous "Lancaster Bomber", of which she was
extremely proud.

Margaret was famous with
her children, grandchildren, great grandchild and many of her nieces and
nephews for her love of
singing songs and reciting poems. Unfortunately, most of these were very sad
and anyone foolish enough to listen would
end up in floods of tears. Her favourite was possibly " The Little Hero".

" The Little Hero "
Margaret loved going on "day trips", whether
it be by coach, train or car. She would often get us to drive her over the
moors into Marsden to look for where her "lost cousins" lived.
She also enjoyed playing bingo and would also meet with her siblings to play
cards.
And so, Margaret married Samuel Waterhouse on the 25th July, 1936 at Holy
Trinity Church in Stalybridge.
They had two surviving children June born in 1937 and Judith in 1953.
A son, Ian, was stillborn in 1948.
