To be with You

The High Angel was walking through a garden
filled with all sorts of flowers, their most extraordinary colors
ranged rose to golden and silver to purple. Beautiful creatures were
free to run and play wherever they like without fear of being hurt
or killed, in Tengoku life was precious and respected to the
fullest, there was no eating and no killing any kind of living
creature. To Kouin he was in paradise, but even when he loved his
planet with all his heart, there were things he couldn’t agree with.
“I think is a stupid rule, Hokano. That’s
all!”
“I agree, but…”
“But?”
“It’s a very strict rule and there is no way they will change it,
EVER!”
“I still think I should negotiate it.”
“You’ll only waste your time. We’re angels Kouin, we shouldn’t even
think of the possibility…especially you. I still don’t know why you
care.”
“Is a personal thing.”
“Don’t tell me you are in love with a man?” Are you?
“…Never mind.”
You are? “Kouin, you’re the High Angel. You should concentrate on
your transformation and stop thinking about other things.”
“How do you know?”
“About the change?”
“Yes.”
“I overheard master Chidou a while ago…it was an accident.”
“It’s ok, I trust you. But…I don’t want to leave Tengoku…I mean, I
do, but I’m scared.”
“I know, but is a process you must go through. If I were you…I’ll be
happy to be able to transform and go to Eden. I wish I could go with
you…I’ll miss you Kouin.”
“We’ll still be friends, you know that.”
Kouin and Hokano kept walking, trying to
reach Kouin’s favorite place for meditation and relaxation while
chatting. “You know, I’m too used to this place…I can’t imagine a
new one.”
“Remember Earth…you though the same back then.”
“Earth…” Those painful memories hunting me again…I’ll never forget.
His eyes turned sad after he heard the name of the planet, even
though it had been years since he’d lived there, it still deeply
tortured his existence internally, more than anything.
“Don’t get sad. I know Kyuseishu will be fine; everyone will look
after him. I will, and Kai will too. You know everyone loves him, he
is our savior.”
“I’ll miss my son more than anyone…I don’t know how to tell him.”
“I think he’ll be with you soon, he is very spiritual…like you.”
“I am not spiritual…I have sins in my heart.”
“We all do. You are not perfect Kouin, but you are the kindest
person I know. Don’t be so strict with yourself. Relax, you try to
do so much and you can’t…concentrate on only you now, I will take
care of Kyuseishu.”
“Thank you, but still…he is my son.”
“He is old enough.”
“For me, he’s still a child. I hope at least you make sure my
mission here stays on track.”
“I sure will.”
They’d reached the spot they were looking
for, provoking the two men to smile right away with the beautiful
scenery-a huge cascading waterfall, falling from many feet above
them. “I love this place…it’s so peaceful.” Kouin slowly gazed to
the surroundings, watching pretty butterflies dancing in the air and
smelling the fresh breeze brushing their faces. The sound of the
waterfall was relaxing for them, especially to the one connecting
with his inner self and the atmosphere around him. Kouin was very
sensible and could feel the energy from nature flowing along with
his own. When meditating, he practiced an exchange of energy with
plants to gain strength and relax his tension. That was the main
reason why he always went to that special spot, where energy was
stronger than in other gardens of the planet. “Every time I get a
look at this place, it’s like the first time.”
The High Angel slowly untied the blue belt
around his waist to loosen his white tunic; throwing it on top of a
rock near the cascade- he was planning to go for a swim just like
every day. He was very strict with himself and had developed a
discipline like no one else had-so even when he was the busiest man
on the planet, he always had time for his ritual.
“You’re going to bathe now?” His loyal
fried asked while staring at the angel undress.
“Yes, we’ll work later. It’s my time off.
You should do your own practice.” He smiled at his friend while he
loosened a long thin braid he had grown all the way down his back.
“Hold this for me.” He gave him the ribbon that was holding his
braid and softly brushed his hair with his fingers.
“Yes…”
“The air is so pure…ah.” Hokano sighed
softly, eyes kept staring at his friend while he took off his
sandals, but the sudden sound of music suddenly stopped Kouin from
moving.
“It’s just some musician, go ahead, I’ll
check no one comes.” But he still didn’t move. “You want me to ask
him to go?”
Strings sounds filled the air and they
began to torture Kouin’s heart. They made him remember the way his
beloved used to play. Strings…everything reminds me of you… It had
the same emotion, and the same melancholy. The music sounded exactly
like Yutaka’s style, that unique way he knew so well and his heart
could recognize anywhere.
“Kouin?”
A voice started singing to accompany the
notes composing the song-the artist’s playing producing tears in the
eyes of the one listening with lost emotion. The melody was
enchanting him, pleasant sounds almost lifting his feet from the
ground just to follow the invisible trace in the air. A chill ran
all over Kouin’s skin, paralyzing his muscles even more. It made him
open wider his pretty blue eyes. Yutaka! He ran off to go find who
was the owner of the divine voice that was singing a beautiful
melody. And as he got closer, the lyrics were clearer to him,
spilling even more fluent tears from his sea blue eyes.
“Time can’t heal a broken heart…when you
love someone for real…”
A young man was sitting on the grass
surrounded by colorful roses while he played an instrument similar
to a guitar. His long white hair fell down to his back and was blown
softly by the wind. His eyes were closed inspired by the melody of
his music, and his voice filled the air with a sweet sound that
reminded the high angel so much of Yutaka’s voice. He took a long
look at the slim white arms and legs revealed by the almost
transparent fabric of his clothing and was completely amazed with
the beauty of the obviously younger man. His hands were also slim
and delicate and his lips were like two rose petals, to Kouin the
boy could only be a mirage- not ever before he saw a young man so
perfect to his eyes.
“…And I can’t stop living in a memory…”
Yutaka? Is it you? Kouin was confused to
see this young man whose voice and inspiration resembled his dear
friend. No…he’s dead… He kept listening without interrupting the
musician’s melancholic melody, even if it was breaking his heart.
His heart flew back once again to the day he lost the one he loved.
Last night the dream, and now…Yutaka, I keep missing you.
“…Tell me how love ends?”
My love…is it you? Do you miss me too?
“ … I’m missing you forever…an eternity
waiting for your love…an eternity waiting for you…an eternity
waiting to be with you.”
The last notes echoed through the garden
till there was a deep silence in the air, after a few seconds Kouin
started clapping still gazing at the young man. The musician looked
up, a little shocked for being watched, meeting the crying eyes that
shinned with emotion. “Thanks.” He replied smiling to the tall man
looking down at him with such intense love the young one felt
chills. It’s a high angel! He’d known because of the jewels he had
on his forehead. Angles with a green triangle and three golden
circles at each side where called the high angels. The others had
less golden circles or only the green triangle-that was his case.
The emeralds of the young man’s eyes
paralyzed Kouin’s heart with shock of the amazing similitude this
young boy had with his lost love. Joy filled his heart when he
realized it wasn’t a mirage but a reality driving him to the
conclusion that his beloved was sitting before him. It’s him! That’s
my Yuyu!
“Why are you crying?” The young man was
confused to see the handsome one crying the way he was, and most of
all, wondered why.
“You…remind me of someone I lost…someone I
loved very much.”
“I see…” He didn’t know what to say. He was
feeling a little uncomfortable with all the staring he was
receiving. “Like the song?”
“Yes…your voice sounds better than the
angels from heaven.”
“Have you heard them?”
“I just did.” The young man blushed with
the compliment- he wasn’t used to it. Kouin slowly walked closer and
sat beside him still staring. “Yutaka…” His heart was beating so
fast he felt he would probably faint with the emotion-yet only more
tears fell from his eyes. His breathing became more difficult and
his hands were shaking, reaching slowly the young man’s face afraid
for him to vanish.
“You know me? I don’t remember you.” What’s
he doing?! Is he gonna touch me?
“What do you mean?” He finally reached the
flushing face of the young musician, making him smile widely. “It’s
you!” He felt an intense current running down his fingers causing
more and more tears to roll down his pretty face while his heart
hilt with the immense happiness he experienced. His body heat up and
paralyzed for a few seconds feeling strongly dizzy with his
extraordinary discovery.
“So, you do know me? From where? I was very
young when I met you, right?” He’s making me so nervous… Why does he
keep holding my face and looking at me like that???
“We met a long time ago…longer than you
imagine.” His hands carefully traced the beautiful face, trying to
memorize the new factions of his beloved.
“You can see the past? I mean, my past
lives?” His hands are so soft! Mm.
“Only one…you are Yutaka.”
“How you know my name?”
“Your name?”
“Yutaka, that’s my name.” He was more
nervous than before. The high angel was now even closer and softly
caressing his hair. The young man had started shaking. “Sir…what are
you doing? You are making me a little uncomfortable.”
“I am sorry…Yutaka.” He smiled and let go
of him slowly but not without smelling the scent on his hair. “You
smell so good.” He couldn’t control his emotions or his desire to
get near him. He decided to ignore the boy’s shyness and hugged him
tightly. “Yutaka!” My love…finally, we are together again. He kept
crying for the immense emotion his heart felt at that moment, the
moment he was waiting for so long. How many years he cried when he
was alone? He was finally able to be left out with his feelings and
his pain.
“Errr…you are weird!” He pushed him and
backed out scared with the attitude of the unknown man trying to
stand up and leave, but when he looked up to his eyes there was
something there that wouldn’t let him go away from his gaze. Somehow
he felt tenderness and an inexplicable affection toward the blue
eyed man. “I…” He’s so handsome…I feel like I’ve being guided here.
Those sweet eyes…
“Don’t be scared...come near me. Please
come.” He pulled him toward him and wrapped him with his arms almost
immediately. They were getting closer, their lips almost brushing,
breathing the same air. Closer. Every fraction of a second their
lips were even closer making them feel dizzy, and breathless for an
instance. “Yuyu…” He closed his eyes to meet the lips of the one
trapped in his arms-believing this was his lost love Yutaka, when a
noise of footsteps broke the moment, and both looked to where it
came from extremely nervous to be watched by someone in such a
compromising situation. The young boy was so scared he jumped at the
same instance he first heard the footsteps ending a few inches away
from the man who was previously so near his to body.
“There you are! You left so suddenly and
forgot your things, highness.” Hokano slowly bowed and placed
Kouin’s belongings on his lap.
“Highness??” The young man didn’t know what
he meant by that and then noticed he had the golden necklace that
can only be worn by the High Angel. “Oh my God!” I’m so stupid! He
must think I’m an idiot! He stood up ashamed for not noticing and
excuse himself by bowing several times. “I am so sorry, highness, I
didn’t know. I should have been more careful.”
“You don’t have to bow or excuse yourself,
I don’t like being treated differently. Hokano, you know I hate
being called like that, why did you?”
“I have to, specially in front of others. I
only call you by your name when we are alone because you ask me
to…but before this boy…”
“Whatever.” He looked back at the musician.
“Can I ask you a favor?”
“Yes, highness, anything.”
“First, don’t call me highness, just Kouin.
And second…would you mind if I paint you?”
“Paint me?” He imagined himself painted in
multiple colors and made a funny face.
He giggled. “Yes, do a portrait of you.”
“Of me?” Kouin nodded. “Oh! You said I
resemble a friend of yours…sure!” He smiled foolishly. I’m so silly,
and I though he literally wanted to paint me.
“I didn’t know you were an artist.” Hokano
didn’t like the idea; he’d never seen Kouin paint before.
“I am, but I haven’t done it in years. I
didn’t feel inspired, but I just found my inspiration.” He glanced
at the boy with glittering eyes, making the young man blush. He was
astonished by the look Kouin gave him and his flattery.
He took his instrument to part his way, and
then turned around to look at him one last time before he left.
“I’ll see you then.”
“Can you come tomorrow?” Kouin was hoping
he would say yes and waited anxious for the young man’s reply,
almost begging with his eyes.
“Sure…same time. Goodbye, highness.” He
bowed again and left.
“I hate being called highness!”
